Take the batteries out of the remote, if it stops doing it. Try doing this. With the batteries out, push every button on the remote twice.
If it still does it, call the manufacturer.

I have a television that turns itself on about once every 2 weeks. I think the neighbors have a remote that has super powers.

ahh it could be you bumped the control button auto change on your remote if it has that feature. Garage door openers, cell phones, and especially universal remotes will cause you troubles too. I bet you it's a universal remote, someone has one and is using it in a neighbors house or someone in your house is having fun driving you nuts.

are those channels set to "auto-tune"? direct tv has that feature that lets you set certain channels to auto-tune, which means it will automatically switch to that channel once the program's schedule that was set is on. you can turn this auto-tune OFF, by the way.
