When we took her, Koko, in, she had a broken paw, but it healed and now she's perfectly healthy, if not a bit starved for attention. We also took in her sister, Shadow, so she would have company.

Shadow is growing just fine, but Koko isn't. We've had her for about 3 months, and she's still small enough to fit in my hand. Is this something I should be worried about, or is everything just fine?

Hi Sabrina...like humans sometimes we inherit genes that are pre-determined whether we will be taller or shorter, heavier, thinner than our siblings and our parents and if we will look anything like them or...another distant relative such as an uncle, aunt or grandparents. Cats (all animals for all purposes) are the very same. They will either inherit genes from the parents or grandparents which determines their relative size. A sibling may look like the parents but another looks totally unrelated...one taller than another. Cats continue to grow until they are 18-24 months old depending on the breed background.

This is hard to say...its never a bad idea if you are worried to get you're cat checked out to simply ease you're mind.

I've had cats that didn't grow for months at the time, namely two little runts who grew up to be perfectly healthy cats. In fact, one I still have. She is still not a very large cat and probably never will be. It might be the same with you're Koko.
If I were you, I wouldn't worry about it. If she's not showing any odd signs suck as lack of appetite, bowel problems, fatigue, vomiting or anything else that could be a bad indication, I'd be comfrotable to say she just needs some time to grow.

Hard to know what to say without actually seeing the cat. I guess my answer is yes and no. Is the cat completely healthy in all other aspects (accept the paw part)? Was this kitten the runt of the litter? Maybe that is why this kitten is still small.

I would be concerned, but without seeing the cat it's hard to say for certain. Has she been dewormed? If she has intestinal parasites it could account for her slow or lack of growth. A basic veterinary visit will let you know for sure. There are many factors that can affect their growth and it's impossible to tell over the internet.

Have you ever observed them eating? Does Shadow eat everything and Koko is just eating her scraps and water?
Try separating their food dishes.

I think koko is something we call a runt? or something like that. a rut, ah, whatever. but if you have a monthly checkup with your vet, he'll probably state what's happening. i don't think you need to be worried though.
