If Mary Mother isn't a god or the three forms, why are people praying to her. Are these people praying to a human being or ghost?

Some people believe that some prayers are "helped along" by a holy person going to God and seeking assistance.

This is mostly a Catholic thing and a point of division with a lot of the protestant denominations. I personally think that it's done to support the "saint department' of the Catholic Church.

I don't agree with praying indirectly. I believe in praying to God with an open and sincere heart.

Prayer is a form of communication. The Orthodox church teaches that we can pray to any faithfully departed soul. I have never done that, and I am not Orthodox. But the point being is that we can pray to anyone and they will pray with us to God. And those who pray to Mary are asking her to talk to her son, with whom her has a bit more clout that we might.

Mary was called blessed and to be so to all nations. She is viewed as an intercessor, just like if you asked a friend to pray for you. She is not God, but the virgin vessal to bring him into this world. Your hinting at the catholics doing so and it is not the fact or truth.

Have you ever asked a friend or relative to pray for you? It's no different with Mary. She is our mother, only she is already in heaven. Therefore, when I pray to her, I tell her what's on my mind, what's bothering me and so forth, and I ask her to pray for me, just like I'd talk with a friend and then ask them to pray for me. It's that simple. I do not worship Mary or anything like that. I'm just talking with my mom.

Dear Confused-
People should not be praying to Mary.

Here is a web site that is helpful in discerning the differences between what the bible teaches and what the catholic church teaches:

You can pray to anyone you want to. I kneel and pray to my pile of monkey bones every day. I even count them as I pray like you count your rosary beads. I keep counting and looking for that missing link. I think it's a rib bone. I wonder what could happened to it. xx

Don't confuse prayer with adoration. Check the dictionary. "Pray" can also mean "entreat" or "implore", and is "often used as a function word in introducing a question, request, or plea", such as "pray be careful". People ask her to join them in offering adoration to God. She herself is not to be adored.

It's an abomination to pray to anyone but God.

That's making the object of your prayer a god, and God will have no other Gods before Him.

Its a man made lie. Its a false tradition.

Mary is not going to save you. Show me one place in the scriptures that says to pray to her. You can't!!

You pray only to the Father. ONLY.
