All the time! But I'm told by a lot of people who I trust, that I am an excellent mommy. I think I must feel guilty partly because I'm a perfectionist, and partly because I have such a wonderful mother and I just want to be as spectacular as she is.
I think Mommy Guilt is good--it makes you constantly work on becoming a better mommy! We could all use that, right?

I feel it quite often, I think it just comes naturally. I get it sometimes when I go to make a quick stop at the grocery store or other errand if I happen to linger in a certain aisle or dept. for more than 5 minutes, or if I take an extra 10 minutes in the shower, but I am not sure if that is because I think I should be spending that extra time with them or if I am worried daddy is not watching them well enough or they are crying ( I have a 4 month old). But rergardless of why you feel it, in my mind I think it is wonderful that we do have this feeling, it shows that we are good women, and mothers.

Very often - at least once a week. I am easily manipulated and worry that my working lifestyle and inconsistency might be "damaging" my child. I grew up in an abusive home and vowed to not be that way with my children. I parented them "attachment parenting" style and that, I think now, was a big mistake. I became overwhelmed with all my personal boundaries invaded, lost my sense of personal identity to that of "mother" and my children didn't end up being "more connected" or better behaved for all my effort. If I did it over again, I woudl definitly put the baby in a cot and teach it healthy boundaries from the start. I think it was more damaging parenting the kids in the way I did - sleeping in my bed - demand-feeding - because they have been very slow to learn their own personal boundaries and where they being and end.

I don't know what you mean by that but I feel guilty from time to time.
After having as many kids as I have you stop caring about feeling guilty and just realize you know you're doing your best!
Lordy! I have one son who is 22. He's very succesful. My youngest is only four and I've got another on the way. I know if I could do that well raising a baby when I was only eighteen I know I'll do damn good now.
I'm a ma with tough love! It's no big deal to me I know what I'm doing wrong and right but I'm not afriad to admit when I'm wrong!

Oh, my... too often. Why? Because as soon as I spend a minute on myself I feel like I'm neglecting my daughter (or husband - my second "child"). I'm also not what you'd call a mother that embraces motherhood... sometimes it drives me nuts... boy, THEN the guiltrips go into overdrive! My mom says that motherhood is 30% love and fun and 70 % agony and hard work, but the fun times make the hard times easier.

I feel guilty if you lost a penny. I would think you thought I took it. I felt that guilt until the day my mother died. 25 years after her death I still feel guilt. Now, my children are the opposite. They truly feel no guilt when it comes to me. Sometimes I wonder if they know that I have feelings, I am alive, and that I deserve respect. Oh humm, is that not how life goes?
