All these cutsey cutsey names are nauseating. don't you think your daughter will be embarrassed to be called Tiara Ashley or Kayla Tiffany?

I agree I was talking to my hubby about the same thing yesterday. We both have typical late 70's babies names & choose to name our children more traditional none trendy names. I dont want them to hate me

I do genealogy research, and although I'm past the age of having children now, if I WERE to be in the position to name a child, I think I'd definitely choose some of the older lovely names that occur in my family that have fallen out of use. The trendy names are like anything else that is a fad - it's not too long until they're over-used and under-appreciated.

I know brothers who each named their girls Mary as a first or middle name about 8 years ago...weird.
I don't like a lot of names, old or popular ones. Imagine going back to Ethel and Maude. I think Kayla and Ashlay are pretty names.
My grandma hated her name her whole life. They named her Etta Beulah. Wow!

Certainly! I have an unusual name, which I got teased unmercifully for, as a kid. You can bet I searched for the most common names I could think of, to save my kids the pain I went thru.
