well that all depends on if you just got them about a week or so keep poping pills and eat soft things till the pain stops and it will stop
if you just get them tightened then about a day or two
you are in for a lot of pain trust me i know i was in for 3 and half years sorry dude but it was worth it

I had braces and every time they adjusted them I went through the same kind of discomfort. It usually lasted 1 or 2 weeks depending on how tight the adjustments were.
I ended up with a trainee once and she put me in more pain than I thought I could handle! She over tightened the wire on my upper and lower! My tongue went numb and I couldn't move it because it hurt so bad! My dentist did the rest of the adjustments after that by recommendation!
Why didn't you go with the invisaline instead?

It will last for a few of days- a week at the most. The second day (after you sleep) is usually the most painful for some reason. Take the reccomended dosage of motrin, tylenol, or asprin and eat soft foods until you can stand it.

It will hurt for several days especially if you eat foods that make your mouth more sore. Put the numbing medication you were given on the sore spots. You can also find it in a pharmacy where you find tooth ache meds.

by the time your question closes, your pain will be gone and your mouth will have adjusted. :) Usually goes away after a few days...

A couple of days or so. Maybe up to five. It sucks. Try Tylenol or Advil.

it will only last for a week or so..maybe two. and then it will start hurting like that again every time you get them tightened
