Yes your right Mosque's all over America had never seen sooo many converts. Just 2 months after 9/11 20 000 Americans converted and every year after 9/11 20 000 is the same figure today. So it is 100 000 converts now in 2006.
Why? Well the media is sending a negative message of Islam, they make it out as if we are terrorists, we dont give woman right, they say Islam is a backwards barbaric religion.
But then people wanted to see this for themselves and so they picked up the Quran in english and read it.
Take a look at this video clip about 2 American converts:http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BhPloat5suc

Because when Islam was invented it was built based off the most appealing parts of other religions. It was carefully crafted and they also have ways of actively seeking converts.
There is a big draw to religion because religion is life. You just have to be careful to find the right one because there are a lot of imitators. Some of those imitators do such a good job that they seem more appealing on a surface level.
I am not going to disclose which religion I know is right. All I will say is do your research very carefully and you will see.
p.s. Fitting in with my favorite quote: "Never underestimate the stupidity of the general public". I just want to say that how many thousands of people who choose the religion provides ZERO insight into whether it is true or not.

I think the number of converts is highly debatable, as it is almost impossible to accurately measure such a thing. But even if there are 20000 a year, that's not really very many in relation to the population. At that rate it would be hundreds of years before Islam became the predominant religion, and that would only be if no one converted to anything EXCEPT Islam, and we know that people do convert to other religions. It does not contradict the fact that the west sees Muslim women as oppressed. Lots of people know that to be a fact. Your own sentence proves it: "Muslims men are allowed to marry non-Muslim women." But Muslim women are NOT allowed to marry non-Muslim men (except very rarely). And why? Because they are in fact, oppressed and don't have the freedom to do so. There is nothing in Islam which shows "Islam" sees women as superior. And again 20000 converts of both sexes, if 75% of those are women, that's only 15000 --not very many. And for at least a certain percentage of those women, it is possible they are doing it for the trend, the exotic, etc., and not because of a true faith conversion. But for argument's sake, let's say ALL the women in the world converted to Islam next year (except me, because that would never happen). A mass conversion in no way proves the truth of anything. If that were the case, then you'd have to agree that the 6,000,000 Muslims converting to Christianity each year (in Africa alone) would prove that Christianity is right, wouldn't you?

Because 9/11 revealed the truth about Islam to those who looked beyond what they thought they saw, and started to ask real questions about Islam. 9/11 revealed the truth about us. We aren't violent lunatics. We are just people living our daily lives, and the vast majority of Muslims want PEACE.............that's why so many people convert now. They realize Islam is beautiful. And your figures are way too low. It looks like brother Poki and Muslimah both have it right, alhumdulillah. 200,000. I think that's a new record!

Are you upset with that? You're not a religious bigot, are you?
Our Bill of Rights, the cornerstone of the Constitution of the United States of America, specifically states "Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof;..." paving the way for Freedom of Religion.
Sadly, it had to take an unfortunate event like what took place on 9/11 to get people read about Islam, and to become interested in a powerful and logic religion that has stood against all the evil and devious forces that surround us in this world we live in today.

did you know that yearly 15,000 people in america LEAVE islaam and become christian? but you never hear that side.
there are 5 million million muslims, and 15,000 a year leave islaam for christianity.
there are 250 million christians.
so by percentage, more people are joining christianity from islaam then the other way around.
oh, and 70% of those who convert leave within 5 years. just so you know.
the fastest growing beliefs are no religion, followed by wicca, followed by evengelical christianity.
