Not a necessity at all. Unless you have crabs. It may be good considered good grooming by some, but that's an opinion that some people hold, not a fact.

The only time hair was a problem was when people were entirely covered in hair, Neanderthal, that much body hair would hold onto bacteria and could kill you. When homosapien came around the amount of body hair decreased and the females would choose the man with less hair due to the health factor. Nowadays with soap and water there is no need to remove your body hair except vanity. There are also some fetishes around that are all about no body hair but, that it another story.

Removing pubic hair makes no sense to me. It is so much trouble to keep up. It is not an area that is easy to shave. I didn't even know it was a trend until I started reading about Britney Spears, Lindsey Lohan and Paris Hilton.

I've read in health magazines that it is actually there for a reason, and pubic hair actually helps keep bacteria on the outside of our bodies...
it's not necessary to remove it. in fact, it's probably a better idea not to.

Nature put them there for a reason so they couldn't be bad for you; it's quite alright to keep them and still have good hygiene.
