Was the Bible the National Enquirer of it's day?

I mean no disrespect, however, think about it. A burning bush that talks, a major body of water separates, a guy that feeds the masses with one fish and a lof of bread, he also walks on water and when he dies he comes back to life. Again, no disrespect, just something to think about.

I will let the viewers decide the best answer. This was mainly to get people to think and maybe discuss the question. One more thought, a man gets swallowed by a whale and lives to tell about it.

Tacitus, Roman historian and the son-in-law of Roman Governor Julius Agricola wrote about Jesus, although with little detail. Another Jew and Roman, Jospehus, wrote about Jesus as well, again with very little detail. It is seen as evidence that Jesus did exist, and had some movement/following, beyond which most everything we know about Jesus is derived from the Bible. You should also consider the information within and surrounding the Bible and the Qur'an. It appears as though some information was hidden, or possibly tampered with, which also seems to support the idea that Jesus was in fact a real man--that the Romans would specifically try to hide/change something. I don't believe there is any evidence that he was actually executed. That is a point the Bible and the Qur'an differ on.

Yeah, sure. Compelling thoughts you have there. I guess because Guttenburg had not yet invented the printing press, there were these scribes who could rapidly make copies of these strange stories by the thousands! And what imaginations! Why would God speak to Moses through a burning bush? We all know that God talks to people as a floating head like we've seen in the movies. Now really!

How about the myth of evolution? No disrespect, but it's a story about monkeys whose children are so intelligent that they make a bomb that can destroy an entire planet. Again, no disrespect, just something to think about.

The bible is a book of verified history. (25,000+ artifacts prove that the Bible and the events in the Bible did happen. Compare that to artifacts found proving that Shakespeare, and others really existed!) The real purpose of the Bible was and is to show all mankind our need for God. God points out sin, not to condemn us, nor to hang something over our heads. Think of God like a parent. We as parents point out things to our children not to make them feel bad or to show them how bad we are. We do it because we love them and we want the best for them. God does the same thing for the same reasons. The miracles you mentioned are also for a reason. They are to prove to us that God is able to help us in any situation we face. That Nothing we go through is too hard for him to do something about it and make it turn out for our good, just like any good parent would do for their child. I hope this helps!

Not at all. I think you have lost the true meaning of what the bible represents to us. It is a letter written to tell us of the past and what God did back then. How he gave to those and they let him down. He tells us how men failed him because of their lusts. He tells us many things in the bible, as well, like what foods to eat to help keep you healthy, how to treat your spouse to have a good marriage, and lots more.

Yeah, that and more. Kind of just shows some of the glory and power that God has. The Bible. so thick, covering so much time, so many authors, so many topics, outlining the love of God for us and the way to salvation,..the National Enquirer?? I hardly think so!
