Its not recommended. Microwaves use forms of radiation to heat food. It has similar effects on the body like the sun which can lead to melanoma.

It was believed that the microwave could cause cancer, but this was a long long time ago, I never knew if it was true or not, but my mom doesn't take any chances...she doesn't have one!

You get more radiation from the cell phone glued to your ear.
Ever notice the dumbing down effect that cell phones have created? Drivers with cell phones are the worst.

I"ve been leaning on mine when it cooks for at least 30 years and so far don't have cancer yet so I would say yes.
