Hey everyone, I go into mediation with my daughter's father (ex-bf) tomarrow and I'm nervous like a cat. He's going for joint custody, visitation and paternity. He plays a lot of games. He checked the paternity box but says he didn't do it. This happens all the time, and his mother hates me. She always wanted a paternity test but he KNOWS our daughter is his. Anyway, I have a protective order on him, police reports on domestic violence and burglery from breaking into my home. do you think it's possible that he can get joint custody of our daughter with all these reports that I have on him or it doesn't matter??? HELP!!!! I'm nervous/scared on the outcome of what will happen. i never been in a situation like this before. can someone give me a heads up on what will happen or give their input on what they think will happen? thanks.

Bring as much documents and proof as You can.
Im pretty sure you'll get it.
Think Positive.
Remember that everything happens for a reason.
And the goverment now a days DOES NOT PLAY.
Especially since he tried to break into your house.
Im pretty sure you'll get Joint Custody of The Daughter, and much More.
Be open, Dont be closed in..Speak As much as you can.
Good Luck.

The court will give visitation rights to all fathers unless you can proved that the father is likely to harm the child or that he is out to take revenge or associating with the father is not good for the child. The proof must be solid and not an assumption or mere allegation.

Good luck

Just chill out.
The court will be on your side.
There is a possiblity that he will get joint custody but you will have physical.
Now he definitely will be allowed to have visitation but make it clear it has to be through a third party because of the PPO.
good luck!
And don't worry everything will work out.

How is your record? were you arrested? do you do drugs? if no then dont worry
Judges rarely ever take kids from their mother and if your meditating then you have one person writing up this agreement*
sometimes the child is old enough to choose and this happens sometimes around 11-14 yrs of age.. your state should provide an advocate on her behalf
he wants you to shake. dont let em see ya sweat..

*make sure you request "supervised" visits with your daughter because of the violent history and so forth. DOnt go unprepared !

anytime you get a marriage license/contract from the state you are at their mercy.

whatever happens you and him and your child will live in pain and trouble for a long time.

good luck.

You need to ask these questions to your own lawyer... Hopefully you will be with your lawyer in court.

Well if they see what goes on and stuff like that. Then they'll realize that she should be with you.
