One man's freedom is another man's slavery. We defend the Constitution from all enemies foreign and domestic. Enemies like George Bush.

People do not realize that small gestures like what you just typed go along way. My husband is in the Army, he has been to Iraq, he doesnt want a medal and he doesnt ever complain even though i know he hates being away from home and things like that. It meant so much to him one time, while flying back to Iraq and having to leave me and our twin sons, an older gentlemen came up and shook my husbands hand and said thank you...and hugged me after my husband walked away and i stood crying. That guy has no idea how much that meant. Thanks for the comment.

you're welcome..
this goes to all the people who think like the first poster...
"War is an ugly thing, but not the ugliest of things: the decayed and degraded state of moral and patriotic feeling which thinks that nothing is worth a war, is much worse...A man who has nothing which he is willing to fight for, nothing which he cares more about than he does about his personal safety, is a miserable creature who has no chance of being free, unless made and kept so by the exertions of better men than himself."
John Stuart Mill

Thanks for remembering our vets. I actually served in the Army from 1980 - 1983 as part of the multi-national peacekeeping force in Sianai (between Egypt and Israel). A lot of people don't relize what these soldiers actually do or have to give up to keep us all free. It's nice to know some out there do respect what they are doing.

My son is in Iraq and when he was home for his mid tour leave he went up to each of the vets that came out to the airport to welcome the guys home and shook each of their hands to thank them for paving the road for his service. If any of you want to do something more to support our service men and women go to www.iraqwarnews.net and check out the list on the right side of the page.

verify you quite understand what you're entering into as a techniques because of the fact the militia is worried while you're coping with such various hardships on the homefront. i'm all approximately turning out to be a member of the militia yet many human beings do no longer understand lots approximately it in the previous they are trapped in it. the final ingredient you desire to do is connect, hate it, and then have a kin that has disowned you. if your foster kin is so "shallow" that they could disown you over the militia it looks such as you do not have this sort of large ingredient going with them and that they could in all probability carry a collection of alternative crap over your head for something of your existence. My suggestion. Get your first 2 years of faculty out of ways then connect. this way you have got the skill to maintain on with for just about all commissioning courses interior the militia in case you desire to or in case you desire to stay enlisted you have got a leg up while it includes promotions. Plus you have got the skill to pass in at an more advantageous rank, a minimum of interior the army. if your loved ones does disown you, save funds while you're in and don't blow your spending funds on beer like such various others. I have been given out after 5 years with nicely in way over $one hundred,000 in cheap fees and advantages and that i grew to become into 23! funds is going quickly on the exterior in case you go with for to get out, you will need it! in case you reside in each and every of the extra suitable.

Your welcome, and proud to be here. While most of us don't do it for medals, pats on the back, or thanks, hearing it definitely makes the job easier and gives us hope in the fact that we are doing the right thing for the right people.
MERRY CHRISTMAS FROM IRAQ!

Personally appreciated -- so seldom said !!
And, I add my voice to your anthem--for I walked away while many didn't--I live with their memory every day of my life !!
And-- to those who are at their post while we at home are at the Season's Cheer--there are none better to have ever breathed than you and your comrades-- and we salute and honor your sacrificies !!!
