Bills are flatter and rounded on the end like the bill of a hat. Beaks are more more rounded on the top and pointier at the end. Ducks have bills. Robins, blue jays, sparrows, ravens all have beaks.

They are the same. Usually the term bill is used to describe the large beak of larger birds.

'Bill' is another word for beak but is usually used in cases where the beak is slender, flattened, or weak, or belongs to a web-footed bird or a bird of the pigeon family. For some reason that I don't understand, it is also used to refer to the muzzle of a platypus.

I'm guessing here but perhaps it has to do with shape. I think a beak is curved and has a sharp end (parrot for example), and a bill is straight and flat (duck).

A beak is hard and its shape is designed to crack nuts. A bill is soft and cannot perform that kind of function. Have a tweet holiday.
