I've lived with my boyfriend for 2 years now and she still hisses at him and keeps her distance. She has done that to my exes as well. I think she has male issues. She likes one of my guy friends (he's very calm) and my mom's boyfriend (he's older), but that's all for men. She likes all women though. Do men come off more aggressive to cats? Is that why she's scared and mean? Is there anything I can do to get them to like each other?

Believe it or not, the cat finds something repulsive to your boyfriend. Remember your cat is your pet, and you are it's master. It loves you, it's probably hissing at your boyfriend because it's either trying to protect you, or thinks it will be taken away.

Cats have different personalities like people. Your cat might have had a bad experience with a male. I have 2 cats one is shy and only a few people can pat her. My other one is really friendly to everyone.Different personalities.

Kaffe, my male neutered cat has similar issues with men... he does not trust them and will scurry away from even the sound of their voice. My daughter's finacee has gone to great lengths to befriend "Kaffe the Snob" and so far, he has limited success.

I guess some cats just do not like male humans.

Cat thinks you are her property. She's posessive. People mistakenly think that they are cat's masters. Haha. Works for dogs, but not for cats. For cats it's the other way around. Maybe you are ignoring your cat too much or setting her out of the room when your bf comes to visit?

Could be that she does have male issues, might have something to do with their natural scent. Issues maybe, feminist no.

She is probably pissed off because you are being used. You have guy who gets all the perks but is afraid of commitment. Ask him about marriage and see what he says.

No. You just have to let nature take its course. Maybe if you leave her alone she will eventually begin to trust males. If she doesn't then you can't force it. If you scold her that may not work either. Animals are like humans. Either they like you or they don't. They have to learn trust just like we do.
