Do you think the world is going to end within the next 20 years?

With the stuff going on in Iraq, Israel, Iran, China, North Korea, Russia and Venezuela its seems that one of these countries is going to blow a gasket and start WWIII.

I don't think we are going to last that much, what do you think?

no but i do think we will be living in a high tech version of nazi germany , with id cards , r.f.i.d.s and a passport to go from city to city no matter what country you live in

The World itself is in no real danger, our planet is a tough old lady and she's taken far worse than anything we could throw. Now as to whether the lazy, spoiled, western countries are going to survive that is a separate matter. There wouldn't be an end to all life on Earth, or even all people, that is not who we would be targeting, what would be ended are the technological infra-structures. How would the average U.S. citizen manage with no electricity, no running water, no gasoline, no grocery stores, imagine New Orleans after Katrina, only in every city in North America at the same time. Our civilization would not survive.

I don't think the world is going to end anytime soon. There isn't much we as humans can do to completely destroy the world. Even if global warming gets completely out of control and we wipe out humanity the world will still be here and recover on it's own, just not with us inhabiting it.

But to what the I think you question was really geared towards. I too believe there will be a major conflict similar to a WW in the next few decades. With the tensions in the middle-east, the nuclear debate between the western world and the mid-east and eastern world something is bound to happen. Diplomacy is obviously not working too well lately (a whole other debate). Do I think "we" (I assume you mean the US or UK) won't last long, I doubt that. We are a stubborn bunch who constantly pick fights with each other until someone else picks a fight with us. Then all of a sudden we are best friends, at least until peace comes to us again. That's the weird thing about us, we only seem to get along when someone is knocking on our door threatening to take over. It kind of reminds me of two Irish brothers I knew who hung out in the same bar. These two would constantly be throwing punches at each other after a few whiskeys or scotch, but if someone else was brave enough to pick a fight with one of them, they would have to fight both of them. As soon as the "foreigner" was taken care of, they would go right back to fighting each other. We are just a bunch drunk Irishman :)

This world can take a few nukes. Look at hiroshima today. The only real threat there is North Korea, and without Chinese support they cannot hope to prevail. They are using russian guidance technology corrupted by the chinese and have so far managed to almost hit the ocean they shot at. Venezuela? What are they going to attack with? Squirting oil cans?

my car blew a gasket the other day, . i highly doubt that the world will end from war in the next 20 years... what we really have to worried about is that global warming ****. I've seen the proof. were gonna be hitting a new ice age pretty damn soon.. like in the next 100 years.. its possible. makes me really scared to because I'm in Canada and will be one of the first to go :s ahhhh!!
and if there is a WW III then that will be the cause of the all too soon new ice age. (the reset button for earth :P ) like with all the bombs and explosions were gonna have no o-zone left..

we dont know when the world is going to end only god knows. but we are living in the end times now. don t you see all the signs and the things that are going on around us. bible prophecys earthquakes wars rumors of wars famines and pestilence. and jesus said when you see all these things come to pass look up for your redemption draweth nigh. read ezekial 38 and 39 in the bible. jesus said he promised he would intervene. and thats gog and magog .it means moscow.
when all this stuff happens nations will turn against one another.
during this time in all of this the church will be caught up . then the antichrist will come. and make a peace treaty with israel for 7 years. in the middle of that 7 years the antichrist will break his covenent with israel. the mark of the beast the antichrist will set that up. n and noone with out that mark can buy or sell. revelation chapter 13. read also the book of matthew chapter 24. read also
the whole book of daniel.when you read all these books in the bible and you put all these signs around you together watch out.

While it is true given the signs, bible prophecy, world events and general feeling of most people, we are living in the end times. I promise you that the world will be much the way it is today in 20 years. now 50 to 100.... Look out.

No, the world isn't going to end, but if idiots across the sea continue doing things like testing nuclear programs and firing missiles, someone somewhere is going to get irritated and bomb the living sh*# out of them.
Also, we're human beings, just like roaches, we keep coming back, no matter how many we stamp out. :P

Only God knows...but I think that it's getting pretty ugly...

I fear for my son. He is almost 7 and I hate to think about what the world is going to be like in 20 years.
