This is easy to answer but hard for you to do. You see, if you are incapable of self respect and a healthy amount of self love, you can't really love anyone else fearlessly. If you look at your relationship very critically, I'm betting that deep down it's really more about fulfilling your own needs than it is about loving them.

Don't mistake fulfillment of needs for love. Big mistake.

Learn to give yourself a pat on the back every now and then. Everyone can find things that are great about themselves if they only judge themselves fairly.

Also, look at your mistakes as opportunities for personal improvement rather than as evidence of unworthiness. Look at yourself as a person, not as a collection of mistakes.

You're asking the right questions. You're on your way!!!

Sometimes letting go is the hardest thing that a person has to do, and it can be the hardest thing to do even among people who love themselves. Loving someone else is not directly related to loving one's self, so you can love someone else. You might just be afraid to let them go, as you might be afraid of what else is out there. I do not think that it is a "love" issue for yourself, rather i think that it is a self confidence issue. Overcome this and you will overcome your "self love/image" problem.
