My best friend asked me out, and i don't want to go out with him. he is so nice, and he can make me laugh, but i told him no. he is just not my type. he is a jock, and i am more into skaters. I like this guy in all of my classes, and he knows. My friend gets sad whenever i talk about any guys. I have this big thing for the band Panic! at the Disco, and he gets sad when i say i think ryan ross is cute. I have no idea what to do! he cries too. he is my best friend, and since he asked me out, we are not like we were. I even told him why.....I told him, that i do not want a boyfriend right now (and i don't) he thinks i am just trying to make him feel bad, and i don't care about his feelings. I do care, but i do not like him more than a friend. I just am very confused. I want to die!!!!!

As you said he is your best friend if really he is, then he'll definitely understand your feelings. I know both of you have different interests but if he thinks that Ryan Ross is not cool, you tell him that you that you also don't like him, just to make him feel good. Try and give him more attention if you can. Sit together and tell him that you are not actually prepared to have a relationship with him and don't forget to tell him that you still like him. Ok first of all, don't say you want to die!!!! Nothing like this is worth losing your life over. Yes it's hard when someone you consider a very good friend, starts having romantic feelings for you. And it's a risk when that person decides to demonstrate those feelings. He needs to understand that you just want to remain friends and that's it. No more no less. A thing like this isn't worth losing your friendship over. Yes it'll be weird for a while because well it just will be. But if your friendship is true, he'll realise that having your friendship is better than not having you at all.

OMG. The EXACT same thing happened to me this month!!!
I just realized, if your best friend is really your best friend, he'd understand you too or at least even try (like what you're trying to do now); instead of acting all immature and making it all hard for you. He cares for you right? Then why is he being selfish about it right? You're not his gal, before anything else, you were just best friends. So tell it straight to his face: "I do care, but i do not like you more than a friend." He'd better respect your decisions or else he ain't a real man. If he doesn't accept it, it's his loss; not yours girl.

He is persistent, that's for sure, and he is paying you a compliment. Thank him...Don't die. Tell him you value him as a friend, a good one, and that is all it will be. Tell him there are so many great gals who would love him but you are not one of them.
Tell him he is sweet, but the case is closed. You might lose a firned, and that's sometimes what happens.

maybe ask him if he wants to hangout with u do or sumthing that really means alot to him he'll probably get over it just be easy going at showing where he belongs when it comes between the both of u and ur freindship u'll maybe be even closer than before

id wait a few days (for him to start thinking straight again) then i would call him or something and tell exactly wat u sed above.."I do care, but i do not like him more than a friend." then just ask him something like "do you still want to be my friend"
