How can I tell if I'm ment to be a Witch, Wiccan or other related practitioner? How could you tell it was right for you?

Personally, I was a Catholic. Then one day my priest was doing his sermon and related world religions to a bullseye. He said that God was the center, and the rings around it were Catholic closest, other Christians next, then the other close religions, then middle easter religions, and that the other religions (such as pagan religions, Buddhism, etc. were not even on the target. My family became very offended and ended up making a scene and walking out (I was only 11, but I was still upset about what he had said). This event opened my eyes to other religions. I had always felt disconnected from the Christian faith, but this event severed all ties. I floated around pondering my faith for a few years until I met my very good friend Lisa. She opened my eyes to the world of pagan religions- Wicca in particular. I became very interested and she allowed me to come with her tocoven meetings, and to learn about it from her. I eventually just knew in my heart that Wicca was where I belonged. I do not know the exact moment it happened, but I knew that since it is a religion of love (for all things and everyone, of tolerance, conservation, and true caring). I knew my heart had found a home.

You just find your spot. There is really no other way to say it.

My wife for instance, considers herself a "Kitchen Witch" and practices mostly folk magick.

I consider myself a Wiccan Warrior, in that I follow the path of a Wiccan, much like a Buddhist or Shaman follows their path. I don't do many spells, but rather follow the Path.

We do rituals, we have an alter in our home. We have gatherings of friends and family that like to practice with us on the Solstices and other Pagan special occasions. But we do not practice true coven magick.

Basically, we've found our place within our spirituality. But yes, it did take some searching and self introspection. But, that is what being Wiccan is all about. It's a religion of self-improvement, personal transformation, and self respect. Not a religion of guilt and self-doubt. It's a way of life, not a part-time occupation.

Witchcraft is a practice rather than a religion. Folk magic was something that I did without really thinking too much about it.

For my religion, I simply believed in what I felt was right and then kept learning about different neo-pagan paths until I had my "Aha!!!" moment. I wasn't in any hurry because I didn't really feel that my beliefs and practices needed a name. What helped me the most is to focus on my deities and then I started to learn more about the history of how they were worshiped and by whom. Eventually I found others who honor the same deities and have the same basic views. I still like to learn about different neo-pagan religions but I've found my "home".

I have been in the practice for 2 years and slowly learning that it;s not something I should be a part of. I'm still in the middle of a 6-year religious struggle that started with my friend Angel, before that I never thought of religion. That was when I was 16. So, I'm still not sure what I am meant to be part of.

My ex is an empath, meaning she could tell how people felt just being near them; she was sensitive to auras.

My friend J (short for "Jay") was really having trouble with hearing things who ended up being his spiritual mother from the 8th plane of existence. According to her, he's still young (4 million years old in spirit).

You can try anything you want to, no one is keeping you bound to a certain belief.

Follow your heart. Read, read, read about what interests you. Then you will be able to make an informed decision about your choice. For me, it all made sense. I was free to choose my path without all those unanswered questions found in christianity. Also, find some area meeting where you can study and observe to see if it's something that you want to try. Join groups in your area or online to have the mentorship that you need. Good luck and Blessed Be.

Learn everything you can about a "religion" then decide if its basic precepts are something you fully believe in. If those precepts are believable to you then follow that "religion". I have been an Eclectic Pagan for more than 35 years.

the way i could tell that i was meant to be witch is i invoked the Goddess and done the ritual as normal, and see if i felt the power of the magick that i casted within my black circle.if i felt attuned into the powers of the Goddess and the magick itself than yes i was meant to be witch.you can only tell yourself if you were meant to be witch by the power within yourself.there is no other way that any others can tell you.you have to find out yourself through the powers within you.nobody can be witch.they have to have the magick powers from the Goddess.
blessed be,
The Morrigan)O(

First you have to study. If you study a religion, you can see if it meets your personal ideology.

You will feel a pull towards it like you need it. When I first began feeling this way I thought the devil had a hold on me. If you open your mind your true calling will find you.

How do you know what car is right for you?
How do you know what is your favorite song, your favorite food, your favorite sleeping position?
Where does your heart lead you?
Clothes cover what you wish them to cover, and reveal what you wish them to reveal.

I've been a christian, a zen buddhist, an agnostic, and even a shaman. For me, every cabinet has its own answer.
