If you believe in the Trinity than yes he did pray to himself. If you believe the Father, Son and Holy Ghost are 3 seperate beings like I do than no. Jesus prayed to Heavenly Father.

No God does not pray to himself. Jesus was addressing his father. Luke 3:21-22 clearly says that God answered his prayer by saying "Thou art my beloved Son; in thee I am well pleased." LUKE 6:12 That you quote clearly says that he prayed TO God, not himself. Matthew 26:39 that you quote also clearly shows him to be addressing hos father.

Jesus chose to "empty" himself and be like us in al things except sin.

We do all our good works by power of the Holy Spirit, working through us.

Jesus accomplished all his miracles and other good works the very same way. And later, so did his apostles.

The only difference is that Jesus really knew how to pray, so he was able to perfectly conform his human will to God's divine will ... through that prayer ... and he successfully changed the world ... forever.

Jesus came here to free us from religions. He wanted to teach us how to have a personal relationship with God. When Jesus prayed, He showed that we need to communicate with God that way. He was here in human for, He Is God, He could put His Godly power aside.

no longer all Christians believe interior the Trinity. Thank goodness. this is ridiculous. yet another prominent.... individuals are pissed once you declare God has a physique of flesh and Bone. nicely, Jesus grew to become into resurrected to a flesh and bone physique, grew to become into he no longer? Now if Jesus and God and the Holy Spirit are one, God could have a physique besides, considering that they seem to be a similar being. So the two you believe in one or the different. The potential spent attempting to blindly rationalize the trinity is gloomy, yet extra importantly, it takes far flung from the actual ingredient of our faith. Who cares what sort of physique God and Jesus have. It has no longer something to do with our salvation.

God does not pray for Himself. When Jesus came to earth to save us from sin, He did pray, for these examples, as a good example of how to pray, of how to pray for others. He prayed to show His love and allegiance to God. I know it's hard to understand. God, Jesus, and the Holy Spirit are one in the same. 1x1x1=1. They are a triunity that makes up the Godhead.

Hope this helps.

Prayer is a dialogue of love. In fact, you could say that nothing but prayer happens in the interior life of the Trinity.

The really strange thing is that *we* can pray, that *we* can have a dialogue with God.

While living in bodily form on Earth, he had a cloak of flesh. The spirit is willing but the flesh is weak.

Jesus was God in the flesh and was in submission to the Father in heaven the same as our flesh must be in submission to our spirit.
