I am still depressed.
Nothing has cured my depression.
I do feel medicine has helped to the fullest for me that it can.
I struggle on a daily basis.
I try very hard to work on my thoughts and behaviors, and it helps
some.
I am very sensitive to the weight issue.
This is what I take.
10 mg prozac daily
150 welbutrin daily
low dose zanac, but I only take 1- 5 in a whole month.
its there if I have increased anxiety.
35.7 (1) adipex mon-fri. Adipex is a diet pill. phenterimine has been around ages, and I think its "somewhat" safe.the adipex is not used for weight control, it just really helps me.
At night a blue zanac (think its like 1 mg) this helps me not grind my teeth all night, because I would.
I have maintained my weight, and decrease my nagging desire to overeat by at least 80 %
Hope this helps.
Get on something. We all say, I feel better, think I will get off the meds now- its not a good idea, it drops you like a bomb.
I think it would be very difficult to gain with the meds i am on.
Remember Phen Phen- bad thing, it was part phentermine, but it was the combination of the other drug (sorry dont know name) that made it dangerous.
Well the other drug sort of calmed the phentermine down, balanced it.
Well Prozac calms it down, I feel as balanced as I can feel due to theses drugs in combo.
Good Luck.
I feel your pain
Just keep trying your mental health is worth the effort of keeping on keeping on

I took Topamax for my seizure disorder. It's used for bipolar disorder as well but it causes rapid weight loss. I am talking like 35 lbs in a month and a half. It is a sodium and calcium channel blocker so you need to be very well hydrated with it and it comes with some nasty side effects if it doesn't agree with you. I suffer from depression as well and it made mine worse. I also had problems with weight loss, hair loss, gum problems etc. There are other anticonvulsant drugs like Zonegran that also have the weight loss bonus and are used for bipolar... Hope that helped...good luck!

Zoloft is one that is used to treat several conditions at once. It's pretty good too as I've been on it. I did not gain weight on this medication.
However, please try this site for more information.
www.crazymeds.org
You'll be able to find out all kinds of information on a crap load of meds there.

I take Lexapro for those very symptoms. I insisted on a medication that I would not have to worry about the dramatic weight changes.

LEXAPRO, CELEXA, AND PROZAC AREONES THAT YOU CAN TRY FOR THE ANXIETY/DEPRESSION. ACCORINGLY, XANAX, OR BUSPAR IS ALSO GOOD FOR PANIC ATTACKS COMMONLY ASSOCCIATED WITH: P.T.S.D.
THERE ARE MANY MED'S AVAILABLE, HOWEVER WEIGHT GAIN IS A COMMON S/E. THIS IS DUE TO THERE CHEMICAL STRUCTURE AND FUNCTION. OF COURSE I WOULD SUGGEST YOU SPEAK TO YOUR DR, "NEVER SAMPLE ANYONE ELSE'S MED'S"
GOOD LUCK
