And I mean a LOT. The leafy vegetables. I love them! But is eating too much bad?

Umm, how about vegetables with soup? Not the cream based ones, of course. Haha.

Excuse me for sounding stupid but, what does "OD" mean? Only Diet, you mean? No, no, no! I eat healthy things and not limit myself to vegetables! No way. I'm just asking if it's okay to eat a lot.

Yes, you may eat all the raw green leafy vegetables you want. Just beware of the dressing you might be tempted to put on them. You cannot OD (Over Dose) on them. Your body will put them to good use, and the fiber in them is good for scraping away the fat that you are burning for energy and other toxins. If you eat "too much" the most that will happen is that your body will pass them out of your system. But that too is good, they don't get stored as fat like sugary or fatty foods do.

You should also be aware that many things which people consider vegetables are not vegetables at all. For example, seed bearing pods are actually fruit, apples and grapes are rather obvious, but less obvious are things like tomatoes and squash. Seed kernels are actually a grain - again wheat is rather obvious, but most people don't realize that corn is a grain not a vegetable.

You will want to limit to some degree both fruits and grains since both are high in sugars. But since you stated that you like to eat leafy vegetables, this is not much of an issue. Green leafy vegetables are good to eat and very low in calories, but very high in nutrition. Eat all of that you want to - it can be considered "free" in terms of your diet.

I don't think it's possible to "OD" on vegetables.
Last I heard, you'd likely get sick of them before they'd harm you.
It's my understanding that you are eating so many vegetables because something about your system requires a lot of veggies.
If you love veggies as much as I do, there are worse ways (chem) to get your nutrients!
And-- if you are interested in nutrition, "don't cook 'em!"
The rule of thumb with fruits and vegetables, if you can chew 'em, don't cook 'em.

It depends on the vegetable.

Starchy types like potatoes, corn and winter squash are high in carbs and most people add fat calories (butter, cheese) on top of that so they hinder weight loss.

Hopefully eating a lot of green leafy veggies will curb your appetite for other high calorie items.

PS - Did you know corn isn't a veggie? It's a grain.

I do, I always eat lots of broccoli, lettuce, celery, zuchini, snow peas, asparagus etc, I've never put on any weight from it. I don't think eating too much is bad. There is Iron and Calcium and things like that in them that are good. Of course too much of anything can be bad if it makes you feel to full or turns you off things. OD means to overdose, it is kinda like from ER or something. It might mean die from an Overdose I'm not sure. Usually refers to drugs.
