Baking soda and bicarbonate of soda are one and the same.

If you are talking about Baking Powder and Baking Soda, then baking powder is actually made up of baking soda as well as some acid salts like sodium aluminum sulfate or cream of tatar and also cornstarch.

They're both the same. Somebody just slapped a fancier name on to sell it for more because you think it's for cooking. You don't need to use them interchangeably in baking, but it would make no difference.

They are completely one and the same. Look on the box. Somewhere on there it should say it's bicarbonate of soda.

no difference what so ever,one & the same thing,soda bi carbonate is the chemical name but baking soda is used in common parlance.
