Jesus founded Christianity. He came to free us from religions. He came here to teach us how to have a personal relationship with God. The earliest parts of the New Testament were written by Paul. Though not all his writings pre-date the Gospels, some do. In order toPaul's writings, we can take the evidence from his letters and from his Acts to reconcile them with what we know now from archeology and other historical indications. We know that Paul died during the persecution of Nero around AD 64-67 sothe writings must obviously be datd no later than that. Many scholars believe Galatians, 1 Thessaloniands and 2 Thessalonians are propably Paul's earliest writings and date in the early 50s. Galatians may be dated even in the late 40s.

The 27 books that make up the New Testament record the teachings and events that are the foundation of Christianity. Of any anchient source, they contain by far the greatest amount of information about Jesus and the people He charged with spreading the message.

Paul, being the most educated of the writers of the New Testament, was able to digest the things Jesus said and understand and relate the theological importance of Jesus. Paul did not attempt to convince people through an eyewitness account like the disciples, but instead Paul used persuasive arguments and theology to spread the Gospel. If Paul had not become the Apostle, ultimately the early church fathers in the second and third century would have provided theological answers, yet certainly not with the talent that Paul had.

Muslimah eMale answered your question correctly... Without Christ there is no Christianity the word does truly mean to be Christ like....

In wondering about the founder of Christianity, 1 Corinthians 15:1-4 is an excellent answer, "Now, brothers, I want to remind you of the gospel I preached to you, which you received and on which you have taken your stand. By this gospel you are saved, if you hold firmly to the word I preached to you. Otherwise, you have believed in vain. For what I received I passed on to you as of first importance: that Christ died for our sins according to the Scriptures, that he was buried, that he was raised on the third day according to the Scriptures." 1 Corinthians 15:1-4 makes it clear -- Jesus Christ is the founder of Christianity.

It is Jesus' death that paid the penalty for the sins of the world (2 Corinthians 5:21; Romans 5:8; 1 John 2:2). It was Jesus' resurrection that ensures personal resurrection and eternal life to all those who believe in Him (1 Corinthians 15:12-34). Ephesians 2:20 teaches us that Christianity was "built on the foundation of the apostles and prophets, with Christ Jesus Himself as the chief cornerstone."

Jesus commissioned the apostles to spread Christianity throughout the world (Matthew 28:18-20; Acts 1:8) -- but it was Jesus Himself who "founded" Christianity with His death, shed blood, and resurrection from the dead (Revelation 5:9-10).

The short answer is neither. The concept of christianity has slowly evolved over the last two thousand years into the teachings and belief system we now know. Jesus would have been shocked by some of the general beliefs of christianity today. Paul (being a jew) would have been outraged. You have to consider that most aspects of christianity are very open to interpretation, and all the different denominations interpret them however it suits their purposes. The only lasting, binding principle has been faith. That was enough for Jesus and Paul, and should be enough for various denominations of christians today, although very few of them really teach it.

Thank you for a real question.

I went here looking for a real answer but found none so I am the first to answer.

Hmm...

I would have to say Jesus only because he repeatedly said that he was the answer to all of the prophets. He declared himself the Messiah and the One with God, so I guess that makes Paul nothing more than a messenger.

Leaves one to wonder though, why didn't Jesus (even with a ghostwriter or pen name) write anything?

Jesus started it off and later, taught Paul for 3 years in the Arabian desert . Paul then, went to the non-Jewish people and established Jesus's teachings, as the Holy Spirit led him to.

Jesus.

Read "The Central Message of the New Testament" and "The Eucharistic Words of Jesus" by Joachim Jeremias (one of the greatest 20th century Biblical scholars).

And BTW, you can PBUH until the cows come home, and you're still not giving him the honor due as the Incarnate Word of God.

God. If you read Genesis you see God's plan for his creation.God is the Father, Son and Holy Spirit. We are created oin the image of God if we were not we would perish with our flesh as a dog dies.God formed man from the dirt and breathed in spirit and the two became a living soul. When Adam and Eve were in the Garden He warned them not to eat of the tree in the midst of the garden the tree of knowledge of good and evil this tree represented the law. When man ate of that tree he found that that day he would die. There was another tree in the midst of the Garden that tree was the tree of life. Eat of this tree and they live forever thsi tree represents salvation. God had a plan of salvation for man and that plan was to atone for sins of those who accept his atonement. The Bible is full of prophesies that reveal Gods truth to those who seek it.

I don't know if you realize it but the word means Christ like, so all Christians should be trying to live as Jesus did. Paul was a wonderful teacher of Christanity, but you have to consider Jesus Christ the founder.
