You really need to examine the ingredients you will use. When you make anything yourself you can control the ingredients; the quality and quantity - adjust everything to suit your tastes and make a special recipe just for you. Sure you can buy a chocolate chip cookie from the store, but it will never fill your house with that irresistible aroma. If you want to add nuts to your chocolate chip cookies, you get to choose the nut - we love pecans; but most commercial options either choose walnuts, or another cheaper nut. What about creating a recipe all your own? Cookies have basic ingredients of butter, sugar, eggs, soda, and flour. By changing the sugar, adding different add ins, adding spices - you create a special recipe all your own. If you want a chocolate cookie, eliminate the same amount of flour as you add cocoa powder. If you want an orange cookie - you can substitute Tang drink crystals for some of the sugar (not all the taste doesn't balance)...the choices are all yours when you bake. try finding exactly what you're looking for in the store...it's impossible.
