I don't want to ruin your high hopes or anything, but I don't think love exists at such a young age. I mean yes, there is infatuation, and maybe the "I like to hang out with you on occasion," but not what some people make it out to be. I don't want to be insulting, but maybe you're being naive. Now that that's out of the way...
She might have just been saying "love ya" in the context of a "girly" sort of response. Usually that type of reply is for her girlfriends and things like that. It was probably just on impulse perhaps, or like you said, it might have been because you had said "love."
Oh, how the minds of young girls work.

yes it was polite the addition of "ya" is not personal or attentive. actually "Love and your name" isnt either they both lack substance especially in a letter that I'm assuming you said for the first time and have not yet face to face with speech
"I love you" is the whole canolly. don't be afraid to go out on the limb and say it only two things can happen.
level two
or
knowing you're still single
go and handle the truth

OK I usually stay away from the kiddie love questions, but you seem like a very sensible guy, and I've been down this road before. She's being nice, it's too soon to get so serious and she's saying, back off a tad bit.

Depending on how close you are and your age of course, I don't think that it seriously means she love you. It's just a quick "i like you" message I think! Because, since I'm a girl, and if I truly loved someone, I would put exactly, "I LOVE YOU!" since it is the proper way to say it. You're too young anyways, but hey!!! it's cute of her to say so.

LOOK, talk to her she can't say she loves you if she doesn't even know you. She probebly doesn't even know what love is yet. Your in middle school you don't need to be worried about love just yet anyway. Wait until you get further in the relationship. Ask her though, then ask her what does LOVE mean to her and why she loves you first.

You are both too young to be thinking about love. When you get older you will be more prepared. The people you think are so important to you now will mean nothing when you are married in the future. Take things slow, not fast.

She probably put that because that's what little girls say to everyone. I'm sure she is not in love with you, you are both very young and don't know what a real relationship is. Don't read too much into it.

She likes you dude. Just chill, and girls that love you will let you know. Don't fall in love at 15. Enjoy yourself, and be in love, and meet tons of people, but don't get too wrapped up yet man. Take it from a guy with experience :)

love ya, or especialy luv ya, it means they like you, but they aren't admitting it yet. They don't want to put themself out there incase you bring it up sometime.
This way they can just say they say it didn't mean anything, (but it does)
