My international flight checked baggage allowance is 2 bags, 32kgs each. So, if one of my bags weighs more (say about 35-36kgs) and the other is less than 10kgs, will the airlines people make a fuss (or charge extra baggage) for the heavier one ? Wont they just consider the total of both to be within the limit and let it go ?

They use to be more lenient on these things, but this year they have all started to charge more for breaking the rules. They follow their wording. If they say total weight, which many do now, then that is what they mean. But this one says 32 kg each, so yes they would charge for the heavy one.

Don't forget, 32 kg is pretty heavy to be lugging around by airport crew so balancing out that weight is exactly what they want you to do.

I've tried that, and beleive me, they will make a fuss and/or charge extra baggage for that situation. They judge it based on individual weight, not total.

If you can, you may want to see about moving some items from the heavier bag into the less heavier one....to sort of balance it out....

they will make a fuss because i have done that. I would put some of the extra stuff in the empty bag before the check in, because they'll make you change some stuff to the other bag there, and it is crap to do it. They neveer consider the total weight of both.

They probably won't just overlook it, although they might if they're feeling generous that day. The limit is for each bag. See if there's anything you can redistribute to the other case so they're both under the limit.

They consider each one individually. You could even have 35kg and 10 kgs... and that would not work.
