I am an agnostic but my position on this is as follows:
If there is a divine entity, everyone religious -or spiritual, whatever- has found it and given different aspects different names, found different ways of connecting with it and so on.
So in a way, there is one true religion and we have all found it.

No!!!
For the first part of your question, may be we would know it in our hearts ( if we all have a chance to learn that religion with no influence). But even if we knew it was true, I don't think all people would follow it. Some may follow but some may not.You know most of the people don't follow the truth if it is against their will or desire. (As a very simple example, smoking)
Instead of only one true religion, if there was only one true superpower which can fulfill all the desires of mankind, we all surely would follow it without question.
But do you expect that kind of thing existed? You know how difficult to fulfill even the desires of a single person. This is the answer to the second part of your question.

Yes, if there were one true religion, it would clearly stand out from all the rest. i think if god actually existed, and if he had designated but one religious path that would lead to him, he would not have allowed the existence of so many different religions and sects, all claiming to hold the only true path to the only true god. if you look at the followers of any religion, you will find mostly good "God fearing" people who think they are doing what pleases their idea of god. so why would god confuse these people who sincerely want to do good and follow him? why would he only chose the followers of one religion, when followers of all religions have the same intention of pleasing him? not only that, but they end up burning in hell for the rest of eternity for not guessing correctly!! What kind of god would do that?!! if one were to look at the world with an unbiased view, it becomes clear that religion and culture are the same thing. each country has its own customs and religious beliefs, which to them are the only possible right ways to live by. and when these cultures clash, we get all the petty wars and conflicts which we now take for granted. such a shame...

No cuz most people like their ears tickled. They also like to go somewhere where it is a free for all and told they can do what they want if they repent. If you repent you never repeat the same act again. They lie and make people believe they are going to all go to heaven cuz that is what people want to hear and believe, but that is not truth. They talk about Christmas like it is all about Jesus......but it is not and never has been about him, it all started with some other false sun god. Most religions teach the Trinity, but most people believe it is possible that one being is three , but not that one being is one? Some religions teach supposedly but never open the bible and when they do it is to totally misinterpret
the meaning and bring in false teachings and doctrines that mainly started by the Catholic religion and has branched out into most religions. I really think it takes a person to search for the truth to find the truth and look for a lifestyle that isnt necessarly easy, it takes hard work to please god

you know, religion is not the way to God, God did not create any religions, they are all man made. Even when Jesus Christ came, he did not bring any religion.
So what's the real way and the truth?
The case is like this:
Every human being on the planet earth is the progeny of Adam and Eve. Since Adam and Eve fell in sin by the act of disobedience, we are all made children of the devil whether we believe it or not. (John 8:38-44) Everyone is concluded under sin, there is not one righteous (Rom 3:23)
So unless we be freed of that serpent seed that was implanted in us thru Adam and Eve, there is no salvation. So we must surrender our human will (which infact is the serpent seed) which automatically disobeys God and receive the rightous seed offered by Jesus Christ and then we must become sons and daughters of God (Rom 8:19).
This has all been made clear and plain in the last days for all. Click the resource below for complete information.

I think I speak for many people when I say that I wish it were that simple.
But one of the side-effects of free will is that some people are not going to believe. And, some people are going to follow religions that have only partial truth, or no truth at all.
God doesn't force Himself on people. He doesn't want to do that. He wants us to freely choose to walk with Him.
I am Catholic and I believe that Catholicism holds the fullness of religious truth -- but that's not to say that other religions do not hold any religious truth whatsoever.
Most religions have at least some degree of truth -- at least to the extent that they mirror Catholicism.

You would think.
I love when various religions try to "prove" their faith with "miracles" and religious text. ALL religions can give examples of miracles...are their miracles less "miraculous" than another.
LO<. it doesn't make sense to me. But I'd never take it from anyone.

no, because people are people and like to question things and some people like to be rebels. if we had 1 true religion not everyone would follow it....then we would have like a leader to tell us what to do...kinda like Hitler... (no offence to anyone who likes hitler...hmmm.....) and try to create 1 master-race thing...

It is not easy to recognize a true religion.
What is true science? Do all mankind know and practice one true science now?
To know anything, we really need to spend much time and much thinking to learn about it and to practice it.

there is only one to follow.the problem is man tends to follow his own heart and because of that there is mass confusion on what is true or not true. jeremiah 17:9says"the heart is deceitful above all things who can understand it".
