I think a lot of people feel like you. I know I do and yet I wind myself up for a really good Christmas every year but often it turns out to be more stressful and it's a really hard time of the year to get through, people are over sensitive to gifts and parties etc it's supposed to be a happy time of the year but I agree if it's that hard its best to forget about it and be nice to people all year.
Tell your sibling he/she must be respectful and treat everyone that way because there is a new year coming up and at the end of it will depend on his attitude throughout. ie if he/she is going to treat the rest of your family like c*ap then that's what he will get next Christmas if he choses to be nice then he will make Christams plesant for everyone

Nah, don't skip it, just get a gift that is useful, u know a pair of socks or something. Then remind him that it's the thought that counts! My sis quit buying christmas for any other than her children since she started having them 7 years ago. I still get her and her children things, as well as the rest of my family. I don't get much in return, but that's not what Christmas is about. It's time to lay aside the hard feelings then!

I can't stand Christmas. If I didn't have a young child at home I wouldn't celebrate at all. It's totally ridiculous to feel like you are obligated to buy expensive stuff for people you don't even like. Christmas was sold to the big stores and shopping malls a long time ago and they mark it up 100% and sell it back to us.

Christmas means peace love joy and helping their less fortunate.
Don't skip christmas, find some poorer people and help them.
My best Christmas was spent in an orphanage in northern China.
Stop complaining, there are people without enough to eat or wear on Christmas, so stop being unhappy.

Well I can understand what you are talking about , but you know you dont want to come down to his level if you dont want to get him anything I can see this but it is Christmas and to get some small thing I would do this and next year I would strongly think about just getting him a card .
