YES, they do. The jobs they come here and take at $4.50/hr or less are jobs our lowest skilled, poorest Americans once did for a better wage. Those poor Americans now have to do those jobs for an even less wage or find another job, some end up homeless or dependent on another relative. Our poorest Americans should not have to compete with illegals coming here and working for third world wages, depressing the wages of our already poorest citizens. Illegals do not belong here. The rest of us need to fight for our AMERICAN poor who deserve a better than third world wage. They need our help, the illegals do not deserve our help. We need to speak up for our citizens.

Yes, they do lower wages. The go out to work labor jobs, sent out ten people to do a job, finish in less time.
Where I live, I have actually seen a whole family, mother, father, sisters and brothers, and little kids go out and drywall and new condo. I have also seen a landscaping crew that consisted of four adults and a few minors. American workers just don't work like that. Have you ever gone into a retail store and heard a bunch of kids running around, and the cashier telling them to behave and be quite while playing? Yes, the mother running a cash register and her kids using the store as their own personal playland. It happens all the time here. If i would have taken my kid to work, and let him/her play and hang out all day, I would be fired.
Aside from working for lower wages and not paying income tax, and being Illegal, they also don't have the expenses that a citizen has. Insurances, food, clothing etc. They live ten people in an apartment, so they individually don't pay a lot for rent, they usually pile ten or more into a van, that is usually uninsured, so transportation costs are low. I saw a van pull up to a dollar store a few weeks ago and fifteen Mexicans got out of it and went into the store. Where I live, If I work on my own, lets say I do drywall work, I have to have an occupational license...I have to be incorporated.........I have to have insurance....I have to obtain workmans comp exemption or pay into workmans comp insurance fund..........The illegals don't do any of this. If they work for a legitimate business, then the one person who has the business pays these expenses, but he still makes out pretty darned well, since his labor is so cheap. The regular individual can not compete against the illegals. Yes he could hire the illegals himself, but then they start demanding benifits and higher wages. Just like the citizens expect.

Well since a business wants to make money they try to spend the least amount of money. It is about supply and demand. If there are a great deal of people who want a certain job then there will be lower pay. If there are not enough people to fill a job there will be a higher wage, so more workers going for the same job lowers the pay. The employer is going to pay the least amount possible in some cases, so yeah that will drop the wages or the available jobs in some fields.

You need to work on your education and get a trade so you can get a good income.

Most definitely. just look at Georgia. When ICE raided a plant down there the company had to increase wages by $1.00/hr to lure legal workers. Not to mention they had to start withholding FICA and state and federal income taxes. No doubt the real criminals here are the employers exploiting the illegal aliens who work as virtual slave labor. Not that I'm defending the illegals, but the illegals need to be deported and the CEOs fined and JAILED. Then you will see a slow down in the invasion.

Immigrants from poorer countries, legal and illegal, are often prepared to work longer hours for less money because this is in fact better than the conditions in their own country. In addition they can often send money back to their family and improve their family's life.

However, overwall in places where there is a lot of immigration there is usually a strong economy, which would indicate an increase in the overall salaries and living conditions for people in that area.

The solution is not fences and border patrols. They really don't work. If you want a solution I believe that employers and individuals should be heavily punished for employing illegal immigrants. This would immediately reduce people using illegal workers.

Just to give you an exam, in Australia employers are not punished in any way for employing illegal workers. This means a student, who can work part-time in Australia might be forced by thier boss to work overtime or lose their job. If the student is caught they are deported, but the boss has no problems.

It's an ongoing process my friend. Just where do you think all the social services provided to the illegals monies come from--charity? Any cash spent there is made up by us through increases in our taxes, insurance costs, and the like. When someone does a job(Border Patrol) that doesn't produce a product it does not create a revenue. Yet how is the Border Patrolman paid?

Sure, if I'm an illegal ALIEN and don't have to pay taxes and live with 5 other people in an apartment that only costs 600 bucks a month it's easy to work for less. Unfortunately, I'm white, have to pay taxes, live alone and can't work under the table so I now live paycheck to paycheck while I see my fellow Mexican apartment dwellers bringing in all kinds of goodies for the holidays. I know things are bad in Mexico but come on! If you're going to be here at least learn English like other people do in other countries that don't even live here! Come here legally and pay taxes like I do!

GREELEY - The line of applicants hoping to fill jobs vacated by undocumented workers taken away by immigration agents at the Swift & Co. meat-processing plant earlier this week was out the door Thursday.
This same thing played out in Georgia, with the Legal American Citizens that replaced the invaders, recieving the going wage rate for the work.
Which equals...Illegal Invading Aliens compound their crimes by "stealing" the jobs of citizens.

Have your spell check repaired.

Its no secret illegals take a 18hr job and turn it into a 8 hr job.

...and they work for peanuts.

Actually, it is their employers who illegally lower the wages.

Sure they do. They do not pay taxes so they can afford to work for less money. If they were not here to do the jobs, employers would still have employees. I grew up in the south where tobacco is a big crop. Before the illegals came, the tobacco was picked even by students (my mom picked when she was a teenager) and the work was still done.
