Yes, there are scholarships for nursing students due to the nursing shortage. I also recommend checking with your state government website or Google.com and Yahoo.com for it, too.

I also recommend checking with the high school guidance office if a current high school student because they have a list of local scholarships. Also, the individual college tends to list scholarships from the college itself and outside sources. There is also a college scholarship list book at the local library that contains some scholarships not listed on the web. Finally, I recommend joining a couple of free membership scholarship search websites.

I don't know of any that will sponsor you. I know that the Army and Navy have nurse candidate programs that, if you're accepted, will pay you $5,000 per year for your last two years of nursing school plus $1,000 per month. In exchange, you have to serve five years when you finish school. Other than that, there are loans, scholarships, and grants.
