I am very dissapointed in my body and everytime I have a substantial meal, it makes me very upset. Over the past few days I have not gone to the gym because I haven't been feeling well, but I have been eating with family a lot due to the holidays. I can't go on hating myself whenever I eat a decent meal, but one of my greatest fears is gaining weight. I am by no means skinny, but am afraid to be fat...what can I do?

Actually, eating more frequently might help. Instead of waiting until you're starving, when you're likely to eat more, eat smaller meals more frequently, about six times a day. That will help you keep your appetite under control.
Also, learn to love your body. Spend a few minutes in the morning and at night, running your hands over your body and praising it! Think about how grateful you are to be healthy, that everything works and that nothing hurts, and that you live in a place where you have plenty of food and never want for anything. Learn to appreciate what you have and to be thankful for it: not everyone is so lucky!

Lots of women have eating disorders but don't know or aren't classified as having one because they don't fit the classic signs of a bulimic or anorexic. However, there is such thing as EDNOS which is also kinda wierd because this says the sufferer must purge multiple times in a week.. Having the fear of gaining weight and having self hate because of eating is a disorder to me... nobody should have to feel like that. I don't know what to tell you to make it better, since I too have this problem. You can try though, to make sure you exercise, since it always makes you feel better, and when you do eat, make healthy choices and/or eat smaller portions. Make sure you get enough water, too, because this keeps you full and helps you to not eat too much at meals. Good luck... *hugs*

well, first of all you really shouldnt care what other people think, but you do need to be at a healthy weight. try planning your meals (normal sized portions) and following them, then you wont feel guilty about eating a big meal. and, try doing balanced meals not fast food or anything. usually a main course (like some ham) a veggie (like canned corn) and some bread or grains (maybe rolls) and probably a glass of milk instead of soda pop.
(wow i sound like im a dieting expert but im not!)

I really think that you have to learn to love yourself no matter what. If you are hating yourself, this is really negative energy and it will just attract more negative energy.

You need to love yourself first.

That's my opinion.
