I am in love with him. The only problem is he loves his mother and takes her words as laws. She decides who he should date and he usually respects her opinions and chooses his girlfriends according to her preferences. I am not sure if she likes me. What should I do?

It helps to know the guy's age. If he is 17 it is one thing, if he is in his 30's that is another thing all together!
I would not want to date someone who did not make their own decisions, especially when it came to matters of the heart. How would his mother really know what girl would suit him? If he really depends on his mother that much, she will always be in your relationship, probably in ways she shouldn't be. You should really consider this when deciding what to do with this relationship.

First off, how old is he and why does he still live with her. Second I would be very cautious about the fact that she dictates his life. If he is not willing to make his own decisions or is incapable of making them then that is a big red flag. Talk to him and voice your opinions about how you feel when it comes to his mother. Be honest. The only way you will ever know is if you ask honest questions and hopefully get honest answers. Good luck with mama's boy.

How is he independent if he lives with his mother and consider her words as law... He is dependent on his mother aka mama's boy. You should keep doing what you are doing if he cant be an "independent thinker" and has to have his mother think for him on deciding if he should be with you he's not worth it his mother doesn't date you he does....

Oh lord woman! RUN! Dating mama's boys is death of it all. been there too many times and never will again. Unless you are gold in her eyes she will medel and try and ruin the relationship.
