The 10 commandments are NOT multiple choice!

(what is the bible then, a test in high-school? Can we then infer that they are an essay question?)

I honestly don't understand the purpose of these catchphrases and quite frankly, when I hear them, I consider punching the one who said it in the mouth, not for his belief in jesus but for his ignorance in expressing said belief(trying to be "cute" about it).

I agree that some of these phrase are really annoying. Many of them were coined to help children learn things about the Bible and their faith, because children can memorize more easily that way. Then, there are some people who are just a little weird, and they like catch phrases and think they're cute. There's also the possibility that someone is using a catchphrase to try to "convert" you, in which case it is best to just ignore it, because it won't do any good to say anything. You can't make people change.

Personally, I have a few catch phrases in my vocabulary, but they are part of the vocabulary I use when talking to myself, and I only use them for my own internal edification.

Some people are very proud of their cleverness, though, and so they want to share it with everyone. Once again, just ignore it, okay, and be happy for the person because they have good self-esteem.

I am a Christian, I have never heard these.

Tell them to be specific and clear.

The ten commandments are not multiple choice would mean that God said to follow all the commandments, not to pick and choose what you want to follow.

Bible basic instructions before leaving earth. In other words, the Bible teaches us how we should be living our lives. If we live our lives according to God's word and through the gift Jesus gives us of salvation, then we are able to go to Heaven for eternity with him.

Sorry if people confuse you. Thanks for not punching anyone!!

As a Christian, I firmly state that the Bible does not support the teaching of hell as a place of fiery torment or torture. Ecclesiastes 9:5 in part says "...but as for the dead, they are conscious of nothing at all,..." Hell, if it were a true place of burning torment, would be mean, cruel and terrible! Who would want to serve a god that did such a thing? Hai'des (Greek) and She'ohl' (Hebrew) are both words related to death and some Bible translations have changed it to hell or the grave. Further exploration of the two words shows that the Greek and Hebrew words mean a place where the dead are laid to rest.

It comes from an attempt to make religion "mainstream". It started with a perception that religion had gone out of fashion. The guitar masses and songs such as "Would Jesus wear a Rolex?" were ok. But the bumper sticker humor falls flat wqith me too.

Yup, careful about punching, if they duck and you hit the eyebrow it makes for nasty broken knuckles, If you hit the teeth you can get horrendously infected cuts. Aim for the nose, the cheek bones and the jaw from the side.
