Well, it depends on the quality of songs. Considering the average mp3 (128kbps) is 5MB, then we can do the math. 5GB is 5000MB, therefore you can store approximately 1000 songs on a 5GB mp3 player.

Well, it pretty much depends on the length of the songs being stored on the player. A 5Gb player should hold about a thousand songs or more and then u get to divide the 1000 by 5 for the descending sizes of the player. Good Luck.

Well it really depends on what bitrate you record your music at.

For example, at 128 kbps (which is the rate of the songs purchased at the itunes store) you can hold around 1,250 songs.

If you encode your own songs at a higher bit rate, say 192 kbps, then you will have less music on your device (approximately 900 songs) but it will be of a higher quality.

Well if we are talking about MP3 songs then each MP3 is usually 3-5MB so you can simply divide and see the count !

1GB = 1024MB (Assuming 1000MB)
So around 250 Songs of 4MB each ! (1000MB/4MB)
So 5GB will have 250*5=1250 Songs!

take your Pick!

and Keep Smiling!
