Depends. Did she take her punishment fairly well? This is really a matter of if you feel she deserves it. FYI...An MP3 player is basically a very small portable radio...that you can download music and etc. onto. I personally would get her the MP3 player, if 1. She did not get into any more trouble while on punishment. 2. She was old enough to properly take care of the MP3 player. 3. I believed that she deserved it.

MP3 players play songs that you can transfer to the device. most of time you need to transfer songs from a computer to the device. instead of having to mess with Cd's you have all your songs on a certain device like an ipod. there's a MP3 player that's about 80 bucks called the ipod shuffle that would be a good x-mas present for a kid or anyone. its small and compact so if her behavior takes a turn for the worst you can easily take it from her. and if she has been on punishment for so long just give the kid a break. it is the holidays and we should give a good memory to keep.

Yes. Christmas is not a time for punishments. Christmas is a time for joy, and even if she's been in trouble a lot lately, you don't want to cut off all positive feelings. So, if you would have gotten her the mp3 player if she wasn't in trouble, then get it for sure.

Well, I was going to say for you to just say no. But if you've been punishing her for six months you definitely have some communication problems, and the problem is on your side - you're the adult. You really need to work on this, MP3 player or not, or your life and hers aren't going to be worth squat. Surprising her with an MP3 is not the answer - surprising her with a decent relationship is.

That is a long time to be on punishment, you didn't give her age either. If she is old enough to take care of one, get it for her. Geez, what could a kid do that was that darn bad? Also, is this going to be the only thing she gets? Also are you getting her a walkman, a boom box, or dvd player? Walkmans are very cheap at Wal-Mart, but they don't last long either. They all can play mp3's.

what does a child do to get punished for 6 months?? I say get it, you can get cheap or expensive kinds depending on your spending range. I will let you know that i was going to get one too and alot of stores are sold out. They could restock before christmas though.

Who's the parent here, you or your daughter? If she's earned it, give it to her but the way it sounds, it hasn't been earned. Tell her no. Stand up for what you mean. Don't let the child rule the roost at Christmas. Buy her something she can use, not the latest gadget that will be ruined in less than a year's time.

I agree that you should buy her one, they have inexpensive ones at wal-mart. her punishment shouldn't affect christmas in anyway. that's just wrong, and if she needs punishment again then you can take away her mp3 player hehehe

Yes you should. If she gets in trouble again, ground her from the MP3 player.
