my twin sister and i share a dog. now the CA law requires that all dogs/cat be spayed/neutered. i want to abid by this law and get our dog spayed. my sister totally disagrees. she also has been paying for all of his medical and grooming needs. by the way she has more money then i do. i refuse to pay 100 dollars to get him registered when if he were to be spayed it would only cost half that price.

how can i get her to understand that he NEEDS to be spayed?

If you're not going to breed your dog, it's cruel to allow him to be horny all the time (and yes, he will be!) when if he were neutered, he would be a happy family dog and be able to relax instead of always being focused on FEMALES FEMALES FEMALES! A fixed dog is just a better dog. They do not wake up from surgery and be all like OMG MY BALLS ARE GONE!!!!!!!! They won't even notice. It's a DOG!

Firstly, since it's a "he," he needs to be neutered (not spayed.)
=) I like "speutered," it's universal!

Here are some great reasons why:
Speutered animals are statistically healthier, less risk of many cancers.
The majority of dog bites are by unaltered males.
Neutered males are calmer and less reactive.
Speutered dogs are less likely to roam.
More than 5 million pets are killed every year because there aren't enough homes.
Only 1 in 10 dogs gets a good, life long home. If you breed your dog, chances are 1 in 10 that they will have a good life.

You're very smart to want to get your dog fixed. I hope you can help your sister to come around. You may want to take her into the kennel of a city shelter to see all of the homeless animals. Maybe that will change her mind.

Your sister needs to be educated on why animals need to be spayed or neutered. Have her read this:

There are so many benefits to having him NEUTERED. He will not mark his territory (have wetting accidents in the house). He will not run away from home in search of in heat females. He will not be susceptible to cancer and other diseases. He will be less aggressive. He will not add to the over population of unwanted animals. PLEASE, get your dog neutered.

well i would show her pictures of all the animals in the humane societies and pounds....especially all the cute little puppies without a home.....and then explain to her that if yall don't get your dog neutered then one of it's offspring could end up without a home...because you can never ensure that every puppy has a perfect home...just talk to her and make sure she understands this.

do searches on line about all the unwanted pets out there and by getting them fixed there would be less dogs out there without homes.
