If its bright red bleeding, especially seen on the toilet tissue after wiping, its probably hemmorrhoids. Dark blood in the stool, you need to get checked out immediately. If your stool is very dark (looks like black) you may have an internal bleed, there are many reasons for blood in the stool. You need to have a scope placed into the rectum, so that the Doctor can visualize to see inside your colon. Don't know how old you are. Could be just a bleed somewhere that can be cauterized when the scope is placed, or something worse....Not trying to scare you but Colon Cancer can also cause bleeding. You reallly should get it checked. Another option is its not blood at all, but something you ate, like beets, which can color the stool. You should reveal your age bracket and how long this has been going on for better answers.

This can be a serious condition and you need to see your doctor, pronto. Bloody stools can be a sign of colon cancer, or of cancerous polyps in the colon. There are other things it could be, but that is a biggie and you don't want to lose valuable time getting treatment if that's what is causing your problem.

Anytime you have a bloody stool it is serious enough to go to the doctor. It could be an ulcer or ulcerative colitis or IB or any number of things all of them serious enough to go to a doctor.

See your doctor right away!

It could be many different things; one or two not serious, the rest moderately serious to life threatening.

See your doctor as soon as possible!
