in so many of the answers given here it is the christians who are either misquoting , misunderstanding their source , or (if i break from my normal practice of giving everyone the benefit of the doubt and go with my gut feeling) maybe they are just plain lying - get your FACTS straight - thats FACTS - not stuff thats written in "the big black book of easy answers for every occasion" - and you might try this too - stop believing things just because somebody else who is trying anything they possibly can to sell the christian propaganda , wrote it or said it somewhere - maybe yoiu could try some cross referencing and when you find contradictory "facts" or "science" .... you might ask yourself... why??? or how??? (could/would that happen) - and if you get really brave you might not hide behind "the devil rules the world" BS that you so often use -what a pitiful bunch of brainwashed babies you really are - comments?

well my little experiment went just as expected for the most part (unfortunately) - just read down the answers (with a few exceptions... thank God) and you can get a perfect feel for the people who claim to have found the answer for us all to get to heaven - just follow the all forgiving jesus - oh .... and try to live your life like he would have - but if anyone says "i think your so wrong .... and i dont want to keep hearing it over and over and over so please ... shut up ..... keep it to yourself" ------ it you hear that all the beautiful christian rhetoric is out the window and its time to attack ... and tell the heathen of the hour how misguided they are - (as i said ... with a few exceptions... thank God)

oh, and just for the record - im not angry , just fed up - ive been respectful and listening for almost 50 years now to your little story and it still is just as simple minded as ever - and whats more ... no .... i wont leave ... and im only the first of many voices

I think it's largely that they don't have enough faith to hold their beliefs on that basis alone, and so they have to invent "evidence" for those beliefs. In general, though, you're right - it has become utterly obvious that Christianity is uninterested in honesty.

You hit on an interesting subject and may not have even been aware that you were doing so. Like most, I am a Christian but I'm not excessively well versed in "the Good Book." What I find so interesting is that if you were to throw down any preconceived notions and just go with the basic facts and conduct a question and answer session, you'd find that not everyone sees things quite the same way. Take an auto "accident" if you will. Three eye witnesses, and no one will tell you the "Same, Exact Story." Why? Differences in prespective. Chances are, all will be telling the truth. And if by some odd chance, they all DID tell the same exact story, you'd have to then believe that they got together prior to your interview and corroberated their story thus leading you to believe they were lieing.
So, I guess the next BIG question is, aren't you a little old for childish name calling? "Pittiful bunch of brainwashed babies...?" Really? I'd be willing to match paychecks, that I have a higher IQ than you, am more well educated and better traveled than you. And sadly, I've probably forgotten more than you will ever hope to learn. And you know what's REALLY tragic about all of this? The tragedy is that you are unteachable. You refuse to learn. So, what will YOU be celebrating on the 25th?

I'm sorry that you feel this way. But everybody lies. No one in this world is perfect. We all make mistakes even if we don't realize it. I'm not trying to change your mind or your beliefs in any way. I don't know your religion and even if I did it's not my place to judge any one. It's like this not trying to be cruel or anything but this is a fact: there is a box with a lid on it. And inside the box is a person's brain. Now it's time for them to learn. That person's learning process is limited because they are thinking inside the box. How can a person prosper and grow in this world? That question is simple. Just remove the lid from the box and think outside the box. Once the person thinks outside the box the learning process has no limits whatsoever. Think outside the box then you will prosper and grow! Years ago i felt the same way that you do. An old wise person told me about the box and my friend, it's really true. That person that was in the box was me. Now I have prospered and grown. I thanked Jesus for helping me. This has nothing to do with brainwashing nobody. My friend it is real. When you get a chance, you should try it. I promise that you will feel a lot better. To me it felt like a heavy burdon was lifted from me, and then for the first time in my life I really felt like that I was free. And til this day I still feel free of all things. You should try it! I hope that this really help you. You are not alone in this world.

oooooo! Ouch dude Ouch. Lol I loved the comment, I guess as a firm believer in Christ I really shouldnt be laughing right now but hey I guess I could argue God gave me a sense of humour! I'll just give my self a second to stop laughing to try and back up my religion with an answer. Thing is though... your abasaloutly right, and I'm pretty sick of it, here I am comfortable in my belief and some other idiot with absaloutly no idea about the God that he worships and lets face it only became so religous because he f*cked up his life became suicidal and thinks God might send him a lottery ticket and his life is completly worthless without it, starts preaching a load of bull and ruins it! Personaly though I just hate this idea of an opposition between science and religion. I recently read an article that said the splitting of the red seas could have been caused by an earth tremmor, and suddenly all these Christians rallied against it to say how dare science cheapen one of of God's great miracles... I wish these people would just hurry up and meet him!

I mean think about it! I believe in a timeless perfect and unchanging God. But the very idea of a miracle is a DIRECT intervention by god in space and time against the laws of HIS OWN NATURE, as I also accept that God did actually create all nature. This I find rather worrying, it puts God in time, it makes him be seen as changing his mind, breaking his own laws, miracles are awefull things for the nature of God. Then is ANYONE seriously meant to be believe that a once in several million years earth tremor happened COINCIDENTLY at the same moment Moses raised his stick? I mean come on, science hasnt shown that rocks have a sense of humour yet.

So what can we possibly tell from this accepting both science and religion... well from the moment the universe was created, the split second of the big bang absaloutly EVERYTHING that happens must be caused by something else (lets forget quantum mechanics for the moment) so from the moment of the universes conception it was pre trigered by God (only in my own opinion) to form in a certain way that would eventually create earth and life and people. The rocks formed in certain way so as several billion years days hours days and seconds from that moment the earth would shift as part of a natural process at the point God knew moses would be raising that stick.

I like that idea personaly, it keeps God as timeless perfect and unchanging, and doesnt deny any science. I mean it's total idiocy to ignore what is infront of us because a preist isnt a scientist, I mean since when did religion mean you had to be completly ignorent? How the hell can being a blind idiot bring you closer to God? Which aplies to anyone who believes dinosaur fossils were placed by the devil.

My answer to your question is please don't judge millions of people by what the loosers do. I mean sitting here in England if I judged all americans by George Bush well I would be teaching you your ABC's before I even bothered trying to write this answer =P see my point?
