A 9 year old shouldn't have to lose weight but my 9 year old niece definately needs to lose weight, so I won't give you that trite "You're too young to worry about such things" answer.
Instead, I would want to ask you where you got the idea you needed to lose weight? Have you spoken to a doctor or the school nurse? Or do you just want to look like a model?
Don't be fooled by the unrealist body image out there these days. Make sure a health care professional says you need to loose weight before you go on any diet.
But you can't do any harm either way by exercising & eating healthy. Sodas aren't exactly good for anyone, skinny, fat or normal. Same with candy & chips. Hardly anyone in America these days eats enough fruits vegitables & fiber (in whole grains.)
And start rollerblading or some other activity like that. Go outside & play catch with the dog instead of playing on the XBox all day.
Be healthy! ; )

Why do you need ot lose weight at your age. Unless you're 19 or something. Sit back, relax and enjoy life. Play, swim, cycle...be active and you'll lose weight pretty quicky. Don't eat sweets a lot. It's bad for you, and not just coz you put on weight.

I purchased a kids aerobic dvd for my sister online. I can't remember the name of it, but if you do a search on the internet you should be able to find a few. My sister lost 26 lbs in 3 months with this program. She really likes it and the kids don't even know that they're doing exercise. Good luck.

First of all try not to eat so much junk food, candy or big portions.Good eating habits start young.
Then I would suggest not to worry too much because you will probably grow a lot in the next few years. It will all come together.
And then, no offense but what are you doing on a chatline sweetheart?

Give yourself a little time. You're young and haven't went thru puberty yet. Once you go thru puberty you may shoot up in height and slim down in weight. Don't worry about your weight now, just enjoy being young. Leave the weight issue, if there is one, until you get older.

You need exercise and don't drink soda or kool aid, eat your veggies and stay away from junk food. ABSOLUTELY NO FAST FOOD (McDonalds, taco bell, pizza hut...) Eat good foods and exercise, ride your bike, play sports, be active, get off the computer and do something productive. It's never too soon to live a healthy life.

At nine, usually you do not need to lose weight. If you are a little pudgy, exercise and play more. Do not watch TV. Do not play video games.
If your mom insists that you "clean your plate" when eating, ask her to give you less servings. Good luck.
