Why are there so many religions?

Are all religions acceptable to God??
If not then how can a person know which religion is right?

Nowhere does the bible say the earth is flat, in fact it refers to it as a circle(Isaiah 40; 22) . Both instances of perfect people walking the earth resulted in a spirit creature called Satan trying to either mislead them or get their worship. The first 2, Adam and Eve failed. Jesus Christ successfully resisted him and gave us advice about this " father of the lie"

Please read Matthew chapter 7. Jesus gives the golden rule there also shows that most religions are not the true way to God. He also says to judge a tree by its fruit. Thus a true religion is one that follows his commandments such as to preach the good news and to love one another, including their enemies.

Have you noticed that in this whole answering blog most of the "my god is real and other religion,s are from Satin".What religion are the people who said that?Take a wild guess.The Christian people say that most of the time."Christ is the only way" say some Christians.Dissing other religions is against their teachings and yet they say that.They question and condemn other religions instead of questioning their own first.For example "why did the bible say that Earth was flat?"Its so wrong that they do that.It shows arrogance.When people do that its only giving Christianity a bad name not a good one.They should not condmen other religions.Relion is like numerous rivers leading to one sea.That is Hindu philosophy.They codnmen Hinduism and call it "cow worship" when they do not take the time to do some reasearch.Sometimes they act like their faith is true and all others are primitive and dumb.That is true arrogance.That is against the teaching of Christ.Tolerance is what really tests true and great religion.For example so many times they diss Hinduism and Hinduism respects them.How wrong is that?There are so many religions because there are so many paths on Earth.Any religion that condmens another religion is not acceptable.No religion does that.Only the followers do that.Any religion is accpetable to god as long it is followed sincerely.That is what my religion (Hinduism) says.But what do some religions say about us?"They are cow worshippers praying to 33 million gods they are primitive".Hinduism is one of the only religions that sees every point of view.They condemn no other religion because that is our teachings.When people condemn us.We simply laugh and say "primitive are you people,our religion is like the Earth,a round ball with no life without study but with study it is rich with so much philosophy and knowledge,only a few however actually look close before judging it".

Religion is a very lucrative business. It generates $3 billion a year in tax free donations. People have been dividing the various religions into sects for centuries. Catholicism has sects along with Judaism, Islam, Protestant, etc, etc. There are now 1500 different sects. They all claim to be God's true religion. If you were God wouldn't you say, "What's with these crazy people?" People are not allowed to put the religions 'on the carpet' and they know it and get away with it. All they have to do is point to a cloud and then point to a book.

Buddhism is the true religion, but until now its light does not cover the whole planet. If there are not other religions, then people in many regions would be deprived of the divine light.
Now, when we humbly read the Holy Books, we can realize that mankind are ready to adopt one world religion. That is the wisdom of God in raising mankind step by step to the realization of One God, One Religion and One Humanity.
Problems may occur again when we meet our brothers and sisters in oher planets. And God will favor us with another new religion at that time.

you can't be right for the most part. I look at this issue like playing roulette. there are so many religions--why waste your time? As you can tell I think religion is pointless. there are so many religions because people were around all over the world and didn't know the other culture existed. so they just came up for stupid simple answers (god and other supernatural crap)for more complicated things. it was all they could do since they didn't have the technology we have today.

Religions are like languages and color of people..they are here just to make us be bad..no one respects no one..and we use all the differences as a reason to fight.
Anyone can claim that their religion is better than others..but no one ever claims to be REALLY tolerant and loving to the human race..It's people who made religions,God has been killed by us,we have God's blood on our hands.

The reason why there are so many religions is because...guess what? You answered your own question...because people tinkered, and customized a faith to fit the spiritual need of a population.
People want that aspect of their spiritual life to make sense to them, that's why there is diversity in religion.
And God just likes all the attention.
The fact that whether or not a faith is acceptable is not important to God.

We are searching for the truth. The fact that there are so many different religions does not matter. We WILL know the truth someday. As long as we are searching for it and try to do what is right , we will be cool with God

No religion is acceptable to God at all. Religion is mans attempt to please God and it is fruitless. What is pleasing to God is a friend who is loyal and honest. He has made a way for people to know Him and has invited everyone to participate. God is about having relationships with people - He could have made robots if it was about anything else. He wants a family and He is getting His wish in a bigger way every day...
