Even on standard definition TV's, the component cables (assuming your TV has component input) should give you somewhat better picture quality than S-Video, though I don't know firsthand whether the XBox 360 will let you output 480i (standard definition) through component. While the other poster was quick to describe that S-VHS breaks up the video signal into luminance (brightness information) and chrominance (color information), he neglected to mention that component video breaks the picture up even further into red, blue, and green signals, leading to greater fidelity even on a standard TV. The difference, though, might be barely noticeable to you--but if you've got a good TV, the increase in quality might be more obvious.

Since you have a standard definition you will be capable of receiving up to480 lines of resolution per screen instead of 1080(hd). S-video would be better for you. What it does is break your video down into two groups for distribution, ligh intensity, and color.

yes it will, s-video is rite between hd and regular cables, on a regular tv, s video would probly be better than the hd.
