I work in a Fine Wine and Spirits and I want to know how to label our Christmas picks.

Since I rarely drink wine, and mostly just buy it as a gift, or to cook with, I usually go with a label that I like, a local winery, a wine from a place I've been or lived in or I ask a staff member.
Price, of course, factors in. But it's not the first thing that I look at.
However, if I were specifically looking for a Christmas dinner wine, I might be swayed by a display that arranged wines by type of common Christmas foods.
So, a vegetarian dinner, ham dinner, or turkey dinner. Good with cranberries. Good with pie. And so on.
(And for those careful vegetarians and vegans, I'd do a bit of research, and have a vegan wine suggestion.)

If Christmas means a turkey put a fine Chardonnay, Sauvignon Blanc or Pinot Grigio on sale. If Ham is the Specialty of the house then go with a Shiraz, a good one like Pirramimma Shiraz Mclaren Vale 2003 mmmh! and for those who must have a roast beef or a Prime Rib a Fine Italian or Cabernet(personally I hate plain Cab) I would go with the new crop of the 2000 Barolos on the market that are aged well enough to make any meal, but you are selling the wine, there is also:
Greg Norman Estates Cabernet/Merlot Limestone Coast 2003. I like this wine drinks like a mini Bordeaux without the wait cost and disappointment. A lot to think about but definitely 4 wines 2 turkey 1 ham 1 beef. Cheers!

Eh, my mom is not too big on alcohol even tho I'm 23 and do drink from time to time...when I'm away from home I love love love sparkling wines...the clear kind with bubbles seems so "Festive." I always love to cut up strawberries in it or drop in whole blueberries. It's a great drink.

We have turkey for Christmas dinner. I like Pinot Noir with it because that wine goes well (at least in my mind).
