Exactly! It is amazing how many people want to argue about something or someone they do not even believe exists.
The evangelist, E. L. Hyde, was conducting a revival meeting at B___, in New Jersey, and in the course of his remarks said "he could prove to the satisfaction of any infidel within ten minutes, that he was a fool." little thinking that he would have occasion or opportunity of doing so. The next morning while walking, a gentleman accosted him very abruptly by saying, "Aren't you the evangelist preaching up here at the church?"
"Yes, sir."
"Well, I supposed you were a gentleman."
"I claim to be one."
"Well, I don't think you are one. Didn't you say last night that you could prove to the satisfaction of anyone within ten minutes that all infidels are fools? If you don't prove it to my satisfaction I will publish you in all the city papers as the most consummate liar that ever struck the city."
Seeing there was no possibility of reasoning with the man, Mr. Hyde said:
"Where is your infidel?"
"I claim to be one," was the reply, "and I want you to know I am no fool, either."
"You don't mean to say there is no reality in Christianity?"
"I do, sir. I have studied all phases of the subject and have traveled and delivered lectures against Christianity for more than twelve years, and I am prepared to say there is nothing in it."
"You are certain there is nothing in it?"
"Yes, sir, there is nothing in it."
"Will you please tell me," said Mr. Hyde, "if a man who will lecture twelve years against nothing is not a fool, what, in your judgment, would constitute a fool?"
He turned away in a rage. Mr. Hyde, drawing out his watch, insisted he still had six minutes; but the infidel would not hear him, nor was Mr. Hyde published in the city papers. ~Pulpit Helps

Simple. Jesus is the most fascinating made up historical figure there is.
Besides people hate Hitler, but they keep asking questions about him, right? Do you think its only because he was a good Catholic? Or that he learned his rabid antisemitism from his Catholic upbringing? No, I think it is the goul factor. How could a man like that cause so much death and destruction? It's the same question I ask about Jesus.

There is a difference between asking questions about a religion, a person's faith, and a person's practices, and asking about Jesus.
There is a difference between accusing people of hating and asking a nonjudgmental question.
I urge you to learn the differences and use them in your writing and accusations here.

That's a great question. I think it's like the bible says. Every man knows the truth in their heart. Deep down atheists and Jesus haters know that He is real and that He is Lord of all. They must be confused because part of them deny's that He exists and a deeper part of them knows that He is God. What a pathetic situation to be in. I feel sorry for them.

Non believers don't necessarily hate Jesus. They just like to rile up the faithful because you guys take it so seriously it darn near controls your every waking thought. A lot of us believe that the only sure things are death and taxes.

Because they know that it will get a lot of answers. It seems acceptable to talk trash about it - and sometimes rightfully so. So many Christians are making a bad name for other Christians out there....by being greedy liars...stealing people's money....and having sexual affairs...but yet bashing those 'sins' in their churches? How hypocritical can those Christians be? They are making a horrible name for Christ!
And yet we are suprised they bash what we believe? A Christian is fooling himself, if he expects to go through life inscathed.

Each to their own, that's what I say. This is a forum in which to ask questions isn't it? Maybe they need guidance and assistance in relation to their faith and beliefs, they are just reaching out to others for advice. Nothing wrong with that.

If you are an non-believer, it does not mean that you hate him. After all. he is part of History, and it is interesting to see how Christians translate the Bible to their liking. Non-believers question most of the things he has been credited with. There are too few facts, and most of them are iffy.

I love Jesus. But for people who may hate him, questins keep getting asked because it is such a controversial issue

Their questions aim at dissuading people from turning to Christ for divine guidance. But the mature humanity can make consideration for themselves.
