An exhibit featuring Editta Sherman's 1965 portraits of seminal classical music greats, taken at Grand Central Station, can be seen at The Buckingham Hotel at 101 West 57th Street @ Sixth Avenue, in both the grand lobby and 2nd floor lounge.
Go there and see the works of this 94-year old human dynamo. Check her work. Do you have an idea how difficult it is to get that kind of recognition? My friend, I'm not trying to discourage you; I'm only trying to let you know that it's not that easy to just walk in ("Stop the world... I'm here!") and to have a gallary display your work. It just ain't that easy! Competition is fierce!
But, the world is full of first time miracles, and talent is always recognized by those in the "know." Do a Google search for NYC Photography Galleries and see what you can come up with. Good luck and very best wishes.

I don't know of any personally, but do a search on "photography galleries".
The link I found for all galleries in the major cities in the US is
http://art-support.com/galleries.htm
The galleries listed in New York City are
http://art-support.com/galleries_ny.htm
Good luck! I hope to be exhibiting in New York and Los Angeles sometime in the future myself.

look up "photo galleries" in yahoo or google and select the "local" tab. It should give you a list of art galleries closest to your zip code.
Go there and check out what they sell.
