How come it is ok for non Christians to use abusive language, insults to a persons faith, and sometimes out right threats but then turn around and critize Christians for asking questions that may challange their lifestyles?
Isn't that just a bit Hypocritical as well. Sort of the pot calling the kettle black, right?

It isn't ok for anyone (Christian or not) to rudely insult another. All non-Christians do not act this way. All Christians do not act this way either. There are rude people who are religious and non-religious. Unfortunately, religion (or lack of it) is not a guarantee of civility. All folks can do is to make sure that we act according to our own standards and not worry if others meet our standards or not.

I think the key is to get rid of the judgement on all sides. I know fundamentalists don't like to hear this but the god that's in the bible and is presented as reality is one that is a projection of people's judgemental thought systems. When Jesus came and taught unconditional love, most people reacted like the 'good son' in the prodigal son parable: they demanded that god be what THEY want him to be like. And so they changed the message. If we can be open to not judging, then maybe it would be infectious. There's a reason why very few, if any, judge the Dalai Lama or Zen buddhists. I remember mythologist Joseph Campbell saying he learned religion from the Tibetan monks who, despite suffering horrible atrocities at the hands of the chinese occupiers, never said a bad word about them. We can take that as an example.

To me it isn't ok for anyone to use abusive language or insults of any kind. To me there isn't any reason why they should criticize Christians (me) for what I believe. The way I feel and believe is a person needs to believe in something. Why not believe in a better life after this one? If after I die there isn't anything then what did I loose? But if I don't believe in heaven and I die and I go to hell what have I lose? I have lost a great deal. I don't want to burn in hell for eternity. I believe in God and I'm proud of it. It gives me a reason to live and get up in the morning.

Religion is very competitive. Religion says. love they neighbor, but they never preach to not be critical of a religion other than their own. Every faith claims that they are God's favorite and the others are NG.

That's kind of a sweeping generalization, do you have examples? It's not as if I would apologize for the behavior of all Atheists but, wow, some people are just like that (on both sides).

Hi,
Well, there are a lot of people who have double standards. But the only change we can make is the change within ourselves.

Yes, and if you challanged their intellect, you would be doing serious harm to them.
It seems to me that it would be nice if they were to ask questions to like minded people, and let us ask questions of like minded people.
But they will not leave us alone, and you can chalk that up to Satan doing his best at SPIRITUAL WARFARE!
I have fought SPIRITUAL WARFARE with the best of them.
Whatever they say, they will get the Bible back in their faces.
