Any and all airlines have to check inside wrapped packages as they are a perfect decoy to get a bomb on a plane. We live in a world inhabited by sick terrorists who don't care how many they kill or where they kill them. So pack your luggage with unwrapped gifts and wrap them at your destination.

No, but I had birthday presents unwrapped. It was a flight from Detroit to Paris (DeGaulle).

No, just came from JFK and nothing happened, they just x-rayed.If you have crazy stuff in the presents, maybe better to put them into the checked luggage.
