The corn itself doesn't come out whole just the outer shell thing does. That's because humans can not digest glucose b, which is why we dont eat grass and such. We can only digest glucose a, there are two different types. That is why the outside of corn comes out whole no matter how good we chew it.

It doesn't actually come out whole, it's just that we usually nibble corn off the cob and swallow it without masticating it between our molars for 5 minutes until it's mush. Corn kernels are tough little pieces of cellulose. Cellulose is what plant cell walls are made of and it's what so called "roughage" is made up of. Our digestive systems have evolved from the caveman days and we don't eat nearly as much raw, coarse plant material as we used to so we can't digest it as completely unless it's very well chewed up. We don't have as much of the digestive enzymes that tear it apart in our systems any more. Most likely it's from years of evolution after eating mostly cooked foods and protein and fats and things like that. Corn kernels just happen to be extra tough and slippery so they pass through our systems relatively unchanged.

I'm fine with it though, actually it tastes even better the second time around if you ask me!

I have heard if you chew corn a bit more and eat it in combination with certain other plant foods that you will digest it more completely.

And why is it that you are studying what something looks like when it comes out???? Maybe there are some mysteries in life that are best left unanswered. You know like where did the sock disappear to after you finished the laundry or does the little light in the fridge stay on or go off when you close the door? You get my point LOL!
Thank you for the laugh today. Merry Christmas to you and yours!
