I want my own tanning bed someday. I love tanning!!!
EDIT: Some people are so mean... I bet the people saying how tanning causes cancer and yada yada yada do other cancer causing things voluntarily. And nobody said Y!A was a spelling test... ugh.

I think it's dangerous and pointless. Pale skin can be just as attractive as tan skin, without any of the risks. If you feel the need to be tan, you should try sunless tans. The lotions and sprays they have these days are a lot easier to use and subtler than they used to be and without any risk of skin damage!
I don't begrudge anyone the preference to be tan... but there is NOTHING nastier than the orange middle-aged women with skin like leather because of all the damage they've dealt to their skin over the years.
PS HOW CAN YOU OWN A TANNING SALON AND STILL BE SO CLUELESS IN THE WAYS OF BASIC GRAMMER AND SPELLING? I call bull. Either way, I'm glad I don't tan because I would be afraid of putting myself into the hands of people that have a hard time spelling the word "curious." Mahalo.

I used to work for a woman that I graduated HS with. I avoid the sun. She tanned 3 times a week at a salon and spent whole weekends on the beach every summer.
Whenever I would mention to someone in the company that we graduated together they'd look shocked and say : "No way! You look 15 years younger!" Sadly, it was the truth, and 10 years later I look about 20 years younger.
She's had several spots of melanoma removed and is very very wrinkled from all that exposure to tanning her whole adult life.
No offense, but you couldn't pay me to get into a tanning bed under any circumstances. My skin is pale, but it's still youthful looking and disease free.

Indoor tanning is extremely dangerous. Malignant melanoma is not a very nice disease and the cure rate is very low. Indoor tanning is a major cause. My doctor told me it is more dangerous than tanning outside. Both are very very bad for you.My brother in law died from malignant melanoma and a very good friend of mine (who tanned at tanning beds) is fighting for her life. Don't do it.

Tanning in general makes your risk to get cancer greater. Try Neutrogena Micromist tanning spray. It makes the TOP3 best list. See this source for why. http://www.beautyqa.com/

I think it's ok as long as you don't do it too much....some people get orange but I have never gotten orange because I keep it minimum--once a week or once every two weeks. One of the ONLY reasons I do it is because it helps my acne sooo much, dries them out.

its gross. it makes you orange and it is very damaging to your skin.
The only positive use is for treating skin disorders and those beds are diffrent from the salon.
Just go outside. Be happy that you are pale. White is sexy too.
Just plain not worth the risks

I like it as in the dark winter time, even the artificial sun cheers me up.
It also helps with my skin which is always very dry in winter time.
In my opinion - if you don't overdo it and try to look like a roast, it;s fine.
