The death is important because it is the ultimate sacrifice, it's the reason we can all have eternal salvation.
All the resurrection does is prove that God has power over life and death, though that had already been proven many times in Jesus's lifetime. The fact is that there are far more interesting things in Jesus's teachings as well as those of the apostles which get glossed over and are far more worrying considering what does get mentioned.

Because of how He died and why. His death was the beginning of it, and it resurrection after. They are both important. If the first, his death, did not take place, there wouldn't have been the second, the resurrection.

We should focus more on the resurrection because that is where the power is, but if it were not for the cross we wouldn't have a resurrection

Hi pagan earthgirl. I am a Mormon and contrary to some peoples beliefs we Mormons are Christians. We celebrate a living Christ and do focus more on Christ's ministry and His resurrection. His suffering in Gethsemane and death upon the cross were necessary and part of the process and I love that He did that for you and I.If you notice when you drive by our churches and temples, we do not have any crosses on them . We do not use this symbol.I love my Savior. Thanks for your question.

I wondered the same thing when I went to church on Easter once. The minister focused totally on the notion of Jesus' death, not the resurrection and the notion of rebirth. It was really depressing and made me never want to listen to that person preach again.

not so, but the death does lead to the resurrection which is the key to our salvation. it truely signifies that this is our temporary life and the one to come is the permanent one.
Defend the poor and fatherless; Do justice to the afflicted and needy. Deliver the poor and needy; Free them from the hand of the wicked.
Psalm 82:3-4
GOD BLESS

its the quick version
its easier to say because of jesus we all will be born again into heaven ,because of him all sin[repented sin] is forgiven ,but too whom much is given much is expected ,
you who have been forgiven of the little things
must also forgive others of yet greater sins,
jesus proved he didnt die for us but by him sin died
all legal and as was written
done by the book
jesus loves you
you are an unblemished lamb
to be forgiven just forgive.
for we all are children of the one god ,who sends his sun to give the liight that give eternal light/thus eternal life.
so long as the light lives we lives
till the next in the beginning
as in let there be light.
