(I hope you all know you're giving dieting advice to a ten-year-old girl.)

Look hon, questions like that really can't be answered effectively on Y!A. You are young, and that means your body has different nutritional requirement than adults do. You really need your doctor's advice on this one because they will know how to help you balance your diet so you stay healthy.

This will be a life long struggle for you if you don't get it under control now. First, stop worrying what others say. If you feel fat, then do something positive to change it. The only thing that will work for the long run is diet and exercise. But chances are, you're not really "fat", so I wouldn't worry about it too much. Check your BMI online to see where you fit in, and if it's high, then try to lose some weight by walking and lowering your cals to under 2500 a day.

First of all, almost every woman feels that way once in a while. If you are significantly overweight, then this has been an ongoing problem. If you are gaining a few pounds as you get older, that is a part of life. It doesn't have to be a part that you accept. You will be surprised how just a few basic things that are not HUGE life style changes can help you out. First of all, do you consume any caloric liquids: flavored coffees, sweetened sodas, sweet tea, etc? Cut those out. Now, do you have any exercise regime? You do NOT have to go overboard to get a little exercise. Walk the mall a few laps before you start shopping. Park farther out and walk to the buildings. Use the stairs as you leave work if they are available. Another relatively easy thing for you to do is to lessen the size of your portions. Order off of the "light" menu or ask the server to place half of your meal in a "to go" box for your evening meal. Having it boxed up and brought to you before you leave is a great way to be sure you don't consume too much at one meal. Most of all, try not to let this make you "feel so fat." You have to feel empowered and self-confident in order to reflect beauty from within. I bet most men out there would say that they would prefer a confident, secure woman to a woman filled with insecurity and suffering from eating disorders from what society has tossed to us females for generations. Don't forget that sometimes our "friends" will say things that hurt us out of jealousy or anger. True, loving friends would NEVER say anything like that to you. They would have no reason to want to hurt you...and what you were told obviously hurt you. The minute that you start "dieting" and counting calories, you can set yourself up for feeling deprived and then have problems with yo-yo dieting that is really not healthy. Talk to your physician. He/she will tell you what a healthy weight is for you and you can even look at your chart to see your weight gain over a longer period of time. Good luck....and relax.

Drink only water and not soda I lost a lot of extra weight with that and also only eat foods with a low fat cal percentage becausehigh calorie foods are ok as long as they arn't all fat. Do some fun excersize everday; get on a trampoline or go for a walk.

Curves works well (if you are a girl). They have an awesome, easy workout and a great diet plan! Walking is also a great thing...I would invest in a stepcounter/pedometer and moniter what you walk everyday. That works for me.
Be careful about what you eat too!

REMEMBER: It's a lot harder to lose the weight; the older you get...so you're smart to want to do it now! But always do it in a healthy way!

You gained weight from eating and you will loose the weight from eating also. So regulate your eating habit. Avoid the fatty foods and too much carbohydrates. If you want to be adventurous, try to be a 'vegetarian' for months until you achieve the result you want such that it's visible to other people who see you. Proper diet and exercise should be paired plus patience and a positive outlook in life.

If you want a fast remedy as in "hours" only...then your only choice is liposuction---it's safer now!

lay of the junk food, nothing good can come from that. Also try to stay away from carbohydrates and saturated fats. These are not good for you and are stored as extera weight. Things like fish and nuts are good for you. Also start exercising. Do a little more each day but do not do too much that you feel sick. good luck

I've lost 5 kilos in my first week. It's my 10th day and I have included salad with some protein (eg. egg/ lean chicken) as you suggested. After 4 years of trying, the fat is finally coming off. It truly feels like magic!

Get started today!

i've gained a few pounds recently and i've always been very thin. first you don't have to go on a diet. but cut your food portions a little, substitute healthier food choices and drink lots of water. try cutting out calories that you drink (Coke, high sugary drinks), those add up. also, even if you don't like to exercise you still should try to do about 20 minutes of cardio and light weights. i watch tv and do toning exercises that i see in magazines, like SELF, etc. and they really work. also, if you use a yoga ball for your stomach, you'll see results. good luck!

You're 10 years old and you're 97 pounds. You're not overweight. If your friends are rude and telling you that you've gained weight, then you might want to consider getting new friends. You're perfectly fine. Good luck, hun.
